The Message

This was Mary’s Song, her response, upon the visitation of the angel as related in the Gospel of Luke. In a simple response Mary sends a message of hope to all women who open their hearts to God’s call. With God, there is life and the promise of rising above circumstances that overwhelm us.

She recently shared a glimpse of her journey—
“I’ve recently had a revelation about my heart posture. The lord revealed to me that even though I may do good things. I did it all for the wrong reasons, and I would have to answer for those things one day. My works were centered around myself or others’ approval, other than on Jesus. This always left me feeling either haughty or like a failure. But now he has recentered my focus on Himself, making what I do out of love and gratefulness to Him. In that I can say that neither my failures nor my successes can define me. Only the word of God can. My opinion of myself is no longer put over his truth about me, and I’ve found great joy and freedom in that.”

I tried so hard, yet could not will myself to stop the self-destructive cycle of sin I was in. But Jesus saved me. I am His! Now, everything comes down to knowing what that really means. I’m learning to trust Him. I’m learning to drink in His presence, and I’m learning to yield. But most importantly, I’m learning to rest in Him. I live and move and have my being in His presence, where there is fullness of joy.” - Jenny M.
