We have 3 very convenient locations in Metairie (near Lakeside Mall), Mandeville (across from Beau Chene), and Gretna (inside the Meadowcrest Professional building). Today was the 1st annual Caplan Eye Clinic “Fun Walk/Run for Sight” at New Orleans City Park.
For every Team Member who participated, Caplan Eye made a donation to an eye charity selected by our staff.
After finishing the course (including spouses, kids and pets), we enjoyed beignets, coffee, hot chocolate and more at Cafe du Monde.
Great weather + fun staff + supporting eye charities = a great day!

Meet Mr. Ronnie…his Mother brought him to have his eyes checked by Dr. Harry Caplan at Caplan Eye Clinic in 1947!
Mr. Ronnie has been a loyal patient at Caplan Eye Clinic for 78 years!
About 4 decades ago, he started seeing Dr. Dan Caplan for his eye care.
Mr. Ronnie is retired after a 40 year career as a teacher.

Caplan Eye Clinic is proud that our own Dr. Daniel Caplan was recently honored as a 2025 Healthcare Hero by New Orleans CityBusiness, the business newspaper.

Dr. Caplan received the honor for his work in bringing to Louisiana the Valeda Light Therapy, a breakthrough treatment for macular degeneration.

Dr. Caplan was the only physician in Louisiana to participate in an FDA Clinical Trial Study for the Valeda light therapy. He served as Principal Investigator for the study.

Dr. Brendon Sumich & Dr. Chad Caplan were also instrumental in establishing the Valeda light therapy in Louisiana.

Caplan Eye Clinic was the first eye practice in the U.S. to perform Valeda light therapy following FDA approval.

Very grateful to Ms. Cherie for her kind words about her recent cataract surgery at Caplan Eye Clinic’s In-Office Cataract Surgery Suite.
She loved the convenience and how easy and pain-free it was… no IV and it only took 15 minutes!
And Ms. Cherie was excited that with the multi-focal lens implants, she is glasses-free.
She was thrilled to donate her 30 pairs of reading glasses to others! And now when she & her husband go out to dinner, she reads the menu to him (without glasses) since he often forgets to bring his reading glasses.
