Crescent City Surgical Centre Recognized by BlueCross BlueShield of Louisiana as Preferred Laboratory Provider
CCSC to offer comprehensive lab services as a BCBS LA Preferred Reference Lab
Metairie, LA – Demonstrating consistency of excellence in both comprehensive lab service offerings and quick turnaround times, throughout the current pandemic, Crescent City Surgical Centre’s Diagnostics division (CCSCD) was awarded Preferred Reference Lab status by BlueCross BlueShield of Louisiana (BCBSLA). This partnership represents both CCSCD and BCBSLA’s commitment to the containment of health care costs, improvement of healthcare outcomes, and the desire to maintain the viability of the current health care system. Network healthcare providers are required to refer BCBS of LA patients, specifically those participating in BCBSLA’s preferred provider organization (PPO) and health maintenance organization (HMO), to Preferred Reference Labs when lab services are needed and are not performed in the provider’s office.
As a Louisiana-based organization, CCSCD considers this status key to its continued provision of the highest quality healthcare to all Louisiana patients in its region. More than ever before, it is important for BlueCross BlueShield members to use Preferred Reference Laboratories. This status affirms CCSCD’s commitment to provide the most advanced and cost-effective care to patients both in Louisiana and along the gulf coast by providing innovative and timely laboratory solutions.
An advanced Preferred Lab in the region means healthcare providers are able to receive patient results faster with reduced chances of lost specimens, which helps guide improved outcomes and can ultimately assist in achieving cost savings. In addition, working with a Preferred Lab can result in decreased lab-related calls to provider officers. For patients, benefits of using a BCBS Preferred Laboratory include minimizing confusion with unexpected out-of-pocket costs and surprise bills and provides increased access to advanced testing.
