❤️💛 Clarke Central is creating Black History every day! In recognition of Black History Month, a mural recognizing some of our notable alumni has been installed inside the school’s ceremonial entrance. With hundreds of distinguished alumni, selecting just 28 to highlight was no easy task. This feature represents only a fraction of the remarkable accomplishments within our alumni community. We are immensely proud of all our graduates and their contributions. We hope this selection reflects that pride and understand that it in no way diminishes the impact of others who continue to represent us so well.

Students, take a moment to read these stories and consider how the work you’re doing today could make you one of the faces future students look up to.

Happy Black History Month & Ramadan Mubarak💐✨

A rare and beautiful convergence today: Ramadan, Lunar New Year, and Lent all beginning together. 🌙✨

Honored to journey with Reverend Dr. Aizaiah Yong, Vasu Bandhu, and myself, Fajr DeLane (), as we reflected on the teachings of MLK Jr., Thich Nhat Hanh, and Malcolm X—three voices of transformation and universal human dignity.

It was an intimate & dynamic group across the United States that came together for this virtual Multi-religious/Interfaith Virtual Pilgrimage. So many great gems were shared✨

Grateful for this shared path.

After 17 years….❤️

When something weighs on your heart — when you see an issue and feel that tug — the question is not “Why isn’t someone doing something?”  The question is: “What can I do to solve it?”

And that is exactly how .fit.fabulous began.

I saw disparities in our Black and Brown communities — social, economic, and health gaps that were swallowing the potential of young girls. I saw food deserts in neighborhoods that deserved better. I saw environments where dreams were quieted because survival took priority. And I wanted our girls to know they were not defined by circumstance. They could shape the trajectory of their lives.

In high school, I created my first health empowerment camp. Parents would ask me, “How are you doing this?”  And I’d smile, think back to my own daily habits, and realized I was building something bigger — a blueprint, a community, a movement.

And that movement became F to the third power: Fun. Fit. Fabulous.
