“I Just Want To Make Sure I’m Helping Them The Right Way.”

It’s something so many parents think — especially when trying to navigate milestones, behavior, communication, emotions, and everyday development.

At TLC, we know how overwhelming it can feel to wonder if you’re doing enough, choosing the right support, or knowing what your child truly needs.

That’s why our clinic is built around a collaborative, child-centered approach.

When families come to TLC, they’re not just getting one therapy session — they’re gaining a team of professionals who work together to understand the whole child. Our therapists look at how children move, communicate, regulate, play, learn, and interact so support feels connected rather than pieced together.

For kids, therapy becomes a place where they can build skills through play, movement, and meaningful interaction.

For parents, it becomes a place for guidance, clarity, and reassurance.

Whether your child needs support with communication, emotional regulation, sensory processing, motor skills, or confidence in daily routines, early support can make a meaningful difference.

You don’t have to have every answer — sometimes the most helpful step is simply having the right team beside you. 💛

Happy OT Month from our TLC crew 💚

Today we repped our OT shirts, but more importantly — we’re celebrating the impact occupational therapy has on the kids and families we serve every single day.

OT at TLC is about so much more than what you see on the surface.
It’s helping children build independence, confidence, and the skills they need to navigate their everyday world — through play, connection, and intentional support.

From obstacle courses to fine motor tasks to helping with routines at home… every activity has a purpose.

We’re so proud of our team and the heart they bring into every session.
The work they do truly makes a difference.

Obstacle courses might just look like play… but they’re doing so much more behind the scenes.

When kids move through an obstacle course, they’re building multiple skills at the same time — in a way that feels fun and engaging to them.

Here’s what’s really happening:

🧠 Motor Planning & Coordination
Kids are figuring out how to move their body through each step — climb, crawl, jump, balance — which strengthens coordination and body awareness.

💪 Strength & Stability
Activities like crawling, climbing, and pushing help build core strength and overall body control.

⚖️ Balance & Spatial Awareness
Navigating different obstacles helps children understand where their body is in space and how to adjust their movements.

🎯 Focus & Attention
Following steps and completing a sequence supports attention, listening, and task completion.

💛 Confidence & Independence
Each time a child completes an obstacle, they’re building confidence in their abilities — even in small moments.

The best part?
Kids just think they’re playing.

At TLC, we use play with purpose — creating activities that support development while keeping kids engaged, motivated, and successful.

Reading to your child might look simple… but it’s doing so much more than you think.

When you read together, you’re not just telling a story — you’re building the foundation for how your child communicates, learns, and connects with the world around them.

Here’s what’s really happening:

📖 Language Development
Children are exposed to new words, sentence structures, and sounds they may not hear in everyday conversation. This helps expand vocabulary and supports both understanding and expressive language.

🧠 Listening & Attention Skills
Sitting and engaging with a book helps children practice focusing, following along, and processing information — all skills that carry over into school and daily routines.

💛 Emotional Connection
Reading together creates a calm, one-on-one moment where your child feels safe, connected, and engaged with you. That connection is just as important as the learning.

🎭 Imagination & Play Skills
Stories encourage children to visualize, pretend, and think creatively — which supports problem-solving, social skills, and independent play.

📚 Early Literacy Skills
Even before children can read, they’re learning how books work — turning pages, recognizing pictures, and eventually connecting words to meaning.

The best part?
You don’t have to do it perfectly.

Ask questions. Let them turn the pages. Talk about the pictures. Follow their lead.

Those little moments add up in a big way.

Watching children grow through each stage of development is what makes this work so meaningful 💛

From sensory-motor obstacle courses to activities that strengthen fine motor and visual motor skills, everything she does is intentional and rooted in helping kids thrive.

It’s not just about the big milestones — it’s about the small wins along the way, too.

We’re so grateful for the care, knowledge, and heart she brings to TLC every day.
