Some gentle ways to challenge yourself and support your recovery this month 🌱

Maybe it looks like adding creamer to your coffee instead of drinking it black.
Sleeping in and letting your body rest.
Getting froyo with friends without overthinking it.
Or having an afternoon snack when you’re hungry.

Recovery is often built through small moments like these: choosing nourishment, flexibility, and self-trust a little more each day.

Which one could you challenge yourself with this week? đź’š

There are a lot of myths about eating disorder dietitians.

We don’t just tell people to “eat more,” ignore health, or only work with people who are underweight. In reality, ED dietitians help people rebuild trust with food, restore nourishment, support physical and mental health, and work alongside therapists and physicians as part of a treatment team.

Eating disorders affect people of all body sizes, and everyone deserves support.

Save or share this post to help clear up some of these misconceptions. đź’š

We spend so much time on our phones and most of what we see is decided by an algorithm.

But the good news? You have more control than you might think.

The accounts you follow, the posts you like, the content you linger on… all of it shapes what your feed shows you next.

If your feed is filled with diet culture, body comparison, or content that makes body image harder, you’re allowed to change it. Unfollow, mute, block, and seek out voices that support healing instead.

Your environment matters and your digital environment does too. đź’š

Eating disorders don’t have a “look.”

They can affect anyone regardless of success, fame, or appearance.

When people speak openly about their experiences, it helps break stigma and reminds others that they’re not alone.

Recovery is possible, and support matters. đź’š

Many common food habits with kids are well-intentioned, but they can shape how children think about food, hunger, and their bodies.

Small shifts in how we talk about and approach food can help kids build a healthier, more trusting relationship with eating. đź’š

National Nutrition Month with a Cedar Health twist. đź’š

If “nutrition” messaging makes you feel like you need to overhaul your diet, cut foods out, or eat perfectly, that’s diet culture sneaking in.

Nutrition is about nourishment. It’s about eating enough, enjoying a variety of foods, and supporting your body in a way that feels sustainable.

Nutrition shouldn’t feel restrictive or overwhelming, it should help you feel supported, energized, and able to live your life.

Recovery doesn’t happen through shame.
It doesn’t happen through pressure.
And it definitely doesn’t happen through minimizing someone’s struggle.

At Cedar Health, our approach is compassionate, structured, and evidence-based. You deserve care that meets you where you are, not criticism for where you aren’t.

Dieting is normalized.
Cutting out entire food groups is normalized.
Obsessing over weight is normalized.
Over-exercising is praised.

We’ve normalized behaviors that can become life-threatening.

Eating disorders are serious mental health conditions, not lifestyle choices. And the statistics are far more alarming than most people realize.

The good news? They are treatable.

Cedar Health provides specialized, compassionate eating disorder care for adolescents and adults. Early support changes outcomes. đź’š

Eating disorders don’t discriminate, but diagnosis often does.

Men are praised for being strong.
For pushing through pain.
For spending hours in the gym.
For having discipline around food and fitness.

Because of these cultural messages, disordered behaviors in men are often overlooked, or even encouraged.

At Cedar Health, we treat many male patients who were overlooked for years before someone recognized what was really going on. Research shows that men are significantly less likely to be screened for eating disorders, even when symptoms are present.

Men struggle with eating disorders, and they deserve specialized, evidence-based care. đź’š

ARFID is often misunderstood and frequently dismissed, which delays support for many individuals and families.
Awareness matters because this diagnosis deserves the same seriousness, validation, and access to care as any other eating disorder.
With individualized, evidence-based treatment, progress is possible. If you or someone you love is navigating ARFID, you don’t have to do it alone. Cedar Health is here to help. 💚

Shame is one of the biggest barriers to seeking help for binge eating disorder.
But this condition is not about weakness or lack of willpower, it’s about patterns that can be understood, treated, and changed with the right support.
Recovery is not about punishment. It’s about stability, compassion, and rebuilding trust with your body.
Help is available. Cedar Health is here for you. đź’š

Too many people with restrictive eating disorders are told they “don’t look sick enough” to need help.
That belief is harmful and untrue.
These illnesses are complex, medical, and treatable. Early support can make a meaningful difference in long-term recovery.
If you’ve been minimizing your struggle, this is your reminder: you deserve care. Cedar Health is here when you’re ready. 💚
