After such a harsh winter, it brings a smile to my face when I see my daffodils, crocuses, and narcissus’s bloom!
I always want to see more in the areas where there is no color. This year I am taking pics so in the fall I’ll know where I need to fill in. Yup, it took me this many decades to figure that one out 😂.

Wishing all the runners of the Boston Marathon the best of luck ! The temps are perfect for all the New England runners !
Something you may not know about me is that I ran the Disney World Marathon 30 years ago. I was inspired by my bestie from Topsfield, Amy Stone, who ran the Marine Corp Marathon. I liked to workout but I wouldn’t call myself a runner. But she lit a fire 🔥 in me that I could do this. Thankfully I had one of my besties from Atkinson, Cathy Thompson, to train with on Sunday mornings at 6 am. She and Sharon Johnson also ran the marathon. We all ran our own race which reminds me how true that is in life in general. Different goals, different outcomes. My goal was to finish without dying 😜. Not sure how I got the idea but I decided to write “ GO DEB” on the front and back of my shirt. It helped me the entire 26.2 miles to hear people the whole way cheering for me! I don’t know if I would have finished if I didn’t have that wave of support.

TMJ issues are becoming more prevalent. The TMJ is a joint that chiropractors can adjust and help with the tightness of the soft tissue around the jaw.
Just yesterday, 3 of my patients were all suffering with TMJ pain and they all find chiropractic to be the only treatment that has helped them. It got me thinking I need to get the word out about chiropractic being an effective form of treatment for TMJ.
Sometimes TMJ disorder can present as ear pain. Most common symptoms include pain in the jaw, limited range of motion when opening their mouth and difficulty chewing.

Over the weekend I had the honor and privilege to attend a seminar given by 2 legends in our profession, Dr. Terry Yochum and his daughter Dr. Alicia Yochum . The Massachusetts Chiropractic Society put this seminar together.
There were hundreds of Chiropractors from all over New England in attendance.

My biggest takeaway was way back in the day we were taught that a certain condition called a “ Spondylolisthesis” ( a stress fracture where the vertebral body has slipped forward ) in a young athlete meant that the athlete could never play contact sports again. This has been proven to be 💯 wrong. With the advancement of MRI , we can determine if the stress fracture is active or healed.

We are fully equipped in our office to take x-rays. If an MRI is necessary, we are able to order one. Certain insurance plans do require the P*P to order the MRI. With the information from our examination, X-ray and possibly MRI we can properly treat young athletes with persistent back pain.

If your child or his teammates are experiencing persistent back pain with no relief from conservative treatment, please send them them our way.
