🐰🌷Easter egg hunt fun at SMC! 🐣💛
We started off the week with meaningful devotions leading up to our Easter celebration:
“He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.” – Matthew 28:6 ✝️

Our residents (and even a few staff members!) got their steps in traveling all around the facility searching for eggs. Each egg was counted, and everyone was rewarded with a handmade crocheted bunny pin—such a sweet touch! 🐰
After the hunt, we gathered together and enjoyed a few Easter games and snacks!
It’s been a beautiful week celebrating the joy, hope, and togetherness of Easter! 💛

🌷We kicked off our Easter weekend yesterday with the sweetest visit from our friends at Metter Elementary School! The students and their amazing teachers brought Easter baskets filled with all kinds of goodies for our residents, and their joy was simply contagious. These precious “busy bunnies” delivered each basket with big smiles, warm hugs, and so much love!!!

💗 Honestly, I think their visit meant more than anything—you could see it written all over our residents’ faces. Moments like these remind us just how special our Metter community truly is. Sometimes, all you need is a hug. 💛

💯A special thank you to Katie and Brenna for thinking of our babies right alongside your own and taking the time to come brighten their day. Your kindness is such a beautiful example of being the HANDS and FEET of JESUS, and it truly touched our hearts! ✝️

We are also incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to their 5th Grade “Sharing Kindness and Love Project.” Because of your generosity, these students and staff were able to deliver 200 Easter baskets to THREE nursing homes!!!!! That’s AMAZING!!! 🤩
What a blessing this day was—not just for our residents, but for these sweet children as well.
Our hearts are so full at Southern Manor At Candler! ! 🐥💛

Thank you, Mr. Woody Nasworthy and Oak Grove Chapel, for coming to SMC and blessing our residents with such beautiful gospel music! Everyone truly enjoyed the uplifting songs and the wonderful time of fellowship, along with the delicious refreshments afterwards. We appreciate you sharing your talents and bringing so much joy to our community!

🐶🎀 Happy Monday from everyone here at SMC….including Birdie!
Sometimes, a wagging tail and a little extra love is all it takes to make someone’s whole day brighter!
Animals can be incredibly therapeutic, especially for our elderly population! Spending time with a sweet pup like Birdie can help reduce stress and anxiety, lower blood pressure, and even boost mood by increasing feelings of joy and comfort! 🐶
We sure loved our time with Birdie girl today! 🐾

🍀It’s been a LUCKY week at SMC!
St. Patrick’s Day celebration where residents enjoyed shamrock bingo and won “pot of gold” prizes gifted from the best…Mrs. Terri Bland! 💚🌈
We were also blessed by the Torrence Family-who we have missed and everyone was so excited to have them join us with their beautiful gospel music!
Of course, the celebration wouldn’t be complete without some delicious leprechaun-themed snacks!
