Wishing all of you a peaceful 2023.

For some people, a new year signifies a fresh start and a new beginning. It is filled with hope and excitement and anticipation. These people might create resolutions or set goals and intentions for the year to come.

For others, the unknown of a new year creates uncertainty and anxiety. The lack of control over the future results in fear. These people may have difficulty setting goals because they may feel powerless.

Regardless of which group you fall into (or maybe you land somewhere in the middle!), the new year is a wonderful time to reflect on the previous year and take inventory…reflect on the parts that brought you joy and happiness, the parts that you consider unsuccessful or hard, the mistake and triumphs and wins and speed bumps. Each part is worth reflecting upon and learning from.

Empowering Minds Counseling Center was created in 2012 as a sole mental health counseling practice. Over the past 11 years, I had provided individual, family and couples counseling to countless people.

I am filled with gratitude to be able to announce the official expansion of the practice. Starting January 1, 2023, Empowering Minds Counseling Center will be a group mental health therapy practice of Psychologists and Social Workers.

We will provide individual, family, couples and group counseling primarily via telehealth throughout New Jersey.

The holiday season can be particularly hard for those struggling with depression. Be sure to check on your loved ones and friends.
