🚨Missing! 🚨
One surefoot x-ray block.
I've been assuming for the last 2 months that my second block was hiding somewhere in my van. I have finally gone through it enough times that I need to admit I actually left it somewhere. But my mind is a sieve and I have no idea where that is. 🫠
If I've been to your barn in the last 2 months and have talked about sure foot pads and you see this kicking around please let me know! I remember discussing surefoot pads and grabbing one block and bringing in to show people what they were like. I *think* that's the last time I had both blocks so I assume I left the one there.
Do I remember the barn? Nope.
Do I remember the client? Nope.
Is it possible that that encounter was some sort of fever dream and never happened? Yup.
Is it possible that I left it on the roof of my van while packing up and it flew off and is now living free in the wild now? Yup

🚨🚨This is an urgent PSA for all horse owners getting joint injections. There is a recall of a contaminated hyaluronic acid (HA) product that some veterinarians have been using off-label as part of their intra-articular medications. The product is called HyCoat and is manufactured by Neogen Labs.

Importantly, this is not a product I have ever used, so my own clients have no need for concern. However, many people who see my Facebook posts are not my clients.

If you plan on having your horse's joints injected, please ask specifically what products are used. HyCoat is not an FDA-approved product and was never manufactured for use within equine joints. The only products that should be used are FDA-approved medications such as Hyvisc , Hyalovet or Legend.

Use of the recalled product has been shown to cause joint infections, which can be not only career-ending but also life-threatening.

If you own a horse that has recently been injected with HyCoat and is now experiencing fever, significant lameness or swelling of the treated joint- please bring them to your local equine hospital ASAP as early and aggressive treatment is important for joint infections.

Please advocate for yourself and make sure your veterinarian uses an FDA-approved product on your horse. Please share this so as many people as possible are aware.

The only thing that equestrians love as much as horses are dogs. 🐾
That is why I am making it a tradition each year to have the very popular raffles at the educational seminar support a local dog rescue. This year for Equine Stress Fest we are partnering with a rescue that is very near and dear to my heart- Helping Hounds Dog Rescue❤️

There are already multiple amazing raffles set up for this year, including
🐾 Chocolate from Gretchen's Chocolates
🐾 Equine Massage Session
🐾 Gift certificates to local feed stores
🐾 Two free shockwave sessions from Snowfall Equine
🐾 One free gastroscopy from Snowfall Equine
🐾 Triple Crown Stress Free Forage
🐾 Full case of Purina Outlast Treats
🐾 DJ Supplement from Platinum
🐾 $400 in SmartPak Gift Cards
🐾 ProTekGI Supplements.. and more to come!

How the raffles work is each attendee will receive 5 tickets on arrival to use as they choose. However, if you make a donation to Helping Hounds Dog Rescue you will be given 10 additional tickets to spend! There will be representatives at the event to accept donations and distribute tickets. They have provided a wish list of items that they are in need of. If you purchase an item for them before the event- bring in proof of purchase (screenshot of receipt or confirmation email) and show it to the representative for tickets. You may also bring in physical items for donation to the event.

You will want to plan to get to the event early as there will also be some canine representatives present to greet guests outside as they arrive! 🐕

Here is the wish list to shop from:
https://helpinghoundsdogrescue.org/donate/wishlist/

If you would like to donate a raffle item to the event please let me know and I'm happy to add!

If you haven't registered for the event do so NOW! We are already at about 3/4 capacity- so you don't want to miss out!
The event is 100% FREE and open to EVERYONE, not just clients!

I fought the idea of a minivan for so long (I'm no soccer mom! 😡) but when you can fit both of your chiropractic blocks, all of your bulky equipment and still have room to pick up a bale of straw on your way home... It's truly something magical! Not to mention it sticks to the road like glue in this crappy weather and gets 33 miles per gallon. I'm team minivan for life now.

Now accepting Zelle payments! 🤑
My bank has finally started to allow Zelle Merchant payments! This is going to be my preferred payment method going forward for clients with Zelle abilities. It has the convivence of Venmo but with NO fees to the merchant (me!). Venmo has been awesome, but having a business account means there is an associated transaction fee taken from the payment. While this slightly less than with a credit card, but it still has added up to thousands of dollars lost over the years. 😫
You can find me with the business number (315)777-5667
Yay Zelle!

I didn't realize my name change would usher in another snowpocalypse. 🌨️ My bad! I tried to get the name "75 And Sunny With a Light Breeze Equine" but it was already taken. Sorry! 🥶 ❄️ 🐴
