We provide caring service to our community and offer traditional burials and cremation services. The Price Funeral Home was established in 1914 by William Clark Price. was a graduate of Eckels College of Embalming in Philadelphia. This was the era of horse drawn hearses, home visitations and viewings. Operating a funeral home in a rural setting required a high degree of dedication, patience, and caring. In 1937, his son, William Rowe Price joined him in the business after graduating from The American Academy of Embalming and Mortuary Research in New York City. Soon, a partnership was formed, and the business name was changed to W. In later years, the business ownership was transferred to William R. Price. W.C. Price remained active in the business with his son and he passed on his work ethic and dedication in the funeral profession. died in 1970 at the age of 89. In 1973, the business was incorporated and the name was changed to William Rowe Price Funeral Home, Inc. At that point in time, the third generation of ownership occurred when William Rowe Price II joined his father in the business. In the year 2014, the business celebrated 100 years of service to the community. In 2015, the business moved on to the next generation. Ashley L. Price, who has been a part of William Rowe Price Funeral Home staff since 2011, proudly became the "4th" generation of Price owners. At Price Funeral Service, we take great pride in our tradition of caring and professional service to our community. We hope to continue this tradition for many years to come.

Donā€™t search for the perfect words, we all know ā€œit sucksā€ being in THAT receiving line.

ā€œI remember standing in the receiving line at the funeral as people walked through to offer their condolences.

In my overwhelming grief, I donā€™t remember much of what anyone said to me except the usual words like, ā€œIā€™m so sorry for your lossā€ and ā€œLet me know if there's anything I can do.ā€

None of those well-intentioned words brought me any comfort.

Then a friend of mine, who had lost her husband a few years earlier, came through the line.

She hugged me and whispered in my earā€¦ā€œThis sucks!ā€

Years later, thatā€™s still the only thing I truly remember being said to me that day.

It was the only thing that matched how I felt inside.

Grief does suck.

And she knewā€¦because she stood in that same place before me.

Sometimes itā€™s not the perfect words that help,
itā€™s the honest ones from someone who truly understands.ā€
