Commercially made household cleaning products contain tons of chemicals and toxins linked to cancer such as phthalates, parabens, petroleum based products, propylene glycol, surfactants like sodium lauryl sulfate, amonia, triclosan, colorants and chemical fragrances. Reduce the toxic load in your home by making your own cleaning products. Try these two recipes. They are super easy and fast to make and are much cheaper than buying store brands.

Easy Homemade All Purpose Cleaner Recipe

1 tsp washing soda (such as Arm and Hammer Super Washing Soda found in the laundry detergent aisle of the supermarket)
1 tsp liquid castile soap (such as Bronner's unscented)
4 to 5 drops of all natural essential oils, such as orange, lemon, lime, bergamot, or lavender. (I order mine on Amazon)
2 cups warm water
A large spray bottle

Place the washing soda in the spray bottle, add the warm water followed by the castile soap and the essential oils. Close the spray bottle and shake. Do not add vinegar. Use as all purpose cleaner.

Easy Homemade Window Cleaner

2 cups of water
1/4 cup of vinegar
4 to 5 drops of all natural essential oils such as orange, lemon, lime, bergamot, or lavender.
A large spray bottle

Add all ingredients to spray bottle and shake. Use as cleaner for windows and mirrors.

So many products contain sugar, and there are always so many temptations around that keep us all sugar addicted. Sugar literally is addicting, as studies have shown that sugar acts in our brain similarly to addictive drugs like co***ne and he**in. It is a great blessing to be free from sugar cravings as this in turn can save us from developing several diseases such as diabetes and cancer (which is fed by sugar) to name a few. Though I must admit that I still fall down occasionally on this, but I credit dates with helping me to abolish sugar cravings. Whenever I was ready to devour a cookie, can of Coke, or a chocolate bar, I would eat a Chocolate Date Truffle, or just a plain date if I didn't have any truffles prepared.

Chocolate Date Truffles Recipe:
1/2 cup ground, raw walnuts (preferably fresh ground in a coffee grinder to retain value of the beneficial oils and nutrients)
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon fine Celtic sea salt or fine Himalayan pink salt (these salts contain tons of minerals that are stripped away from regular white salt)
1 cup soft, washed, pitted dates (about 10 Medjool dates)
1 tablespoon water
Additional cocoa powder or unsweetened coconut flakes for coating (optional)

Add all ingredients to a high powered blender such as a Vita-mix or food processor and combine. Roll into one inch balls and roll in unsweetened coconut flakes or cocoa powder if desired.

Keep readily available in fridge for when sugar cravings kick in!

Eventually, after weaning off of sugar for a long enough period of time, you may no longer need to rely on dates. And if you "fall off the wagon" and have a sugar binge, don't feel bad, just start again. It's taken me actually a few YEARS to be able to get through the day, the week WITHOUT sugar...but once I discovered dates, it took me a few months.
