When going through hardships, you should reach to and utilize your natural resources FIRST for help and support. Those natural resources can be family, friends, community, coping mechanisms, amongst so many others.

If your natural resources are not giving you the help and support you need, that’s when therapy becomes an option. You want to make sure those resources are not being useful to your situation in order to learn new things in therapy. Going to therapy to learn what you already naturally have access to and utilize has no real benefit for you.

However, you should not allow time to pass and allow your situation to worsen or become a crisis and seek therapy then. Therapy should not be your last option. Get the help that you need and feel better about yourself.

Yup, I went there and said what I said. 👀

It’s not really about the hair & nails, it’s about what you’re making a priority.

So many people complain about not being able to find a therapist within their budget, but then are unwilling to budget their own finances and make a 6 month sacrifice for their emotional healing.

If you are able to afford to “live your best life” and give yourself what you deserve, you definitely have the possibility of arranging your finances to have a therapy budget.

I know many will say it’s part of taking care of themselves, but I’ve got some news… therapy is self-care. Therapy will give you so much more than a pair of shoes or expensive bag ever will.

And yes, you are deserving of all the greatness of this world. But you also need to identify the area of your life you need to take care of and make it a priority. Stop sacrificing your needs to fulfill an empty want.

This doesn’t mean you need to pay a therapist at full fee. Some of you have insurance and there are many therapists who see insured clients. But even that’s a problem because people don’t want to commit to their copay either. Explíquenme por favor porque no entiendo.

So sometimes it’s not about the money - it’s about priorities and what you value.

You don’t always need to be working on yourself.
It’s not making you a healthier person.
Allowing yourself to be does.

Do whatever it is that you need for your emotional health, but always make room for rest.

Make rest and keep going a new motto.
