Camp Erin South Florida

Camp Erin South Florida Catholic Hospice also cares for the whole person with special programs like Pet Peace of Mind and spiritual support for those of all faith traditions.

At Camp Erin, grieving children learn that they are not alone, that their feelings are normal. They have a safe environment to express themselves with other children going through a similar experience. Grief professionals and trained volunteers lead age appropriate groups through clinical grief activities such as remembrance ceremonies, sharing circles, art therapy, music, creative writing, drama and other physical activities.

On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, the Children's Bereavement Center (CBC) from Miami is hosting a session that will focus on a deeply meaningful, and often overlooked, topic: PET LOSS. 🐾

Losing a pet can be a profoundly emotional experience, especially for children and teens. As we continue to support youth and families through all forms of grief, it’s essential to recognize that the loss of a beloved pet can feel just as intense and heartbreaking as other types of loss. πŸ˜”

This training will provide compassionate insights and practical tools to help us better support young people navigating pet loss. Your participation can make a real difference in how we continue to show up for those in our care. πŸ₯°

The Children’s Bereavement Center also offers free virtual grief support groups for all ages: CBC Groups (for children and teens) and Lift From Loss (for young adults and adults). πŸ‘₯

Groups are held weekly on Zoom and are available in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole. Individuals can join whenever they feel ready.

To register:

This past Saturday, July 19, 2025, our Camp Erin team hosted a Camp Erin South Florida Reunion! The reunion provided an opportunity for past and present camper families and volunteers to reconnect. Attendees spent time catching up, sharing stories, and simply enjoying each other’s company. The team provided lawn games and activities for kids, while attendees also enjoyed a variety of food options. Humane Society of Broward also came to provide a relaxing pet therapy session that was a hit with both adults and children!

"It was a nice break from the usual routine and a great opportunity to just be present with the community," said Edmound Davis, Bereavement Camp Coordinator.

Thank you to Edmound and all those who were involved in our reunion for providing this opportunity and space for our Camp Erin families and volunteers to continue building a community of support and connection!
