Connection Coalition

Connection Coalition Who the heck is CoCo? CoCo is the organization formerly known as Yoga Gangsters. It's short for Connection Coalition.

Connection Coalition, affectionately known as CoCo, is a training organization that certifies service providers, care givers, community members, and organizations to become “Trauma Informed” to create connection and self regulation through mind / body practices. CoCo's mission is to support collective behavior shifts by educating on the impacts of trauma. The education provides access to mind body tools that foster emotional awareness leading you to access and reform deeply held unconscious bias. Pre-Covid….CoCo provided organizations with paid and in-kind programming in schools, shelters, jails and other nonprofit organizations offered by local volunteers who have completed the “CoCo Weekend” training. This evidence based curriculum develops unique skills and awareness needed to make authentic connection through yoga, mindfulness, and meditation. We have been teaching self-awareness and self-control while providing messages of empowerment since 2003. CoCo has been able to serve more than 32,000 youth nationwide.

When the turmoil feels so freaking big and it’s fundraising season ya take a beat and truly think about the why of it all.

Since 2003 has been supporting youth, recovering adults, post incarcerated teens, homeless, foster youth and more.

20 years.

Personally, each time we step into the role of volunteer the heart remembers connection in it’s simplest forms.

A youth’s giggle.

A stressed teen closing their eyes and breathing deep.

A young adult being seen and not judged.

These small human moments are anchors to what we CAN do.

The outreach work has provided tools for self-regulation in hundreds of programs since 2003.

20 years and well over 35k youth.

Some who grew up with these teachings!

Please help us continue bringing movement, mindfulness, and meditation!

Save the date and make a donation to help us continue this work.

This grassroots organization has empowered thousands beyond we can ever measure as we know the ripple of connection.

Her: “Well, I just got the results back from the Dr.”, she said.

My reply: “No matter what they are, you are loved and will be supported along the entire journey.”

Her: “The doc said I have Bipolar Disorder and…”

Everything that came after those words faded and details became a muted whisper. I just knew, it was time for me to step up my parenting game again.

Effective communication is crucial when dealing with your child's bipolar disorder, and mindful listening can be a lifeline during these challenging times.
