FRIENDS OF NAMO:
This week we highlight ToneCenter, the sound practice of . ToneCenter explores sound as a living space for attention and sensory awareness. Samer approaches the gong not only as an instrument, but as a field of texture, movement, and listening. His work invites a slower pace, a refined ear, and a sense of presence that unfolds gradually rather than all at once.
ToneCenter draws from Samer’s background as a touring musician, his studies with experienced sound facilitators, and an ongoing curiosity about how resonance interacts with the body and the environment. The focus is on creating sound fields that feel spacious, grounded, and attentive rather than loud or overwhelming.
Recent works include:
• Electric Gong (Maximum Overdub Records)
• Soft As Metal (Pioneer Works residency recording), available on Bandcamp and streaming
