Aqua Home Care South District met for dinner at a local restaurant in Miami to reconnect for 2026 and show our Director of Partner Success Karrie from corporate around. We had a blast and tried muy delicioso Spanish (Cuban) cuisine. The atmosphere and ambiance was beautiful and full of fun, cheer, great and musica. The pictures and paintings on the wall made you feel like you were there in the countryside; we even took pics ourselves. We don't see each other often but when we do it's magical! I attended the Occupational Advisory Meeting at Historic Carver Technical Education Center in Delray Beach. Staff and community partners wasted no time kick starting the course curriculum progress for the 2026 year which would allow students to better prepare for their roles as healthcare professionals, i.e. home health aides and certified nursing assistants to assist our growing senior population. ❄️ Cold Weather Tips for Florida Seniors ❄️
Even in the Sunshine State, temperatures can dip lower than expected. Here are a few simple ways our elderly loved ones can stay safe and cozy when the weather turns cold:
🧣 Layer Up: Light layers trap heat better than one heavy piece of clothing. Add a sweater, socks, and a cozy blanket when sitting for long periods.
🔥 Keep Indoor Temps Steady : Aim for a warm, consistent temperature inside the home. Even small drops can feel much colder to aging bodies.
🥣 Warm Meals & Drinks: Soups, teas, and warm meals help maintain body temperature from the inside out.
🚿 Be Careful With Hot Water: Cold weather can make skin more sensitive. Test water temperature before bathing to avoid burns.
🚪 Block Drafts: Use rolled towels or draft stoppers at the bottom of doors and windows to keep warm air in and cold air out.
