The process begins in the resuscitation room of the hospital where the dying patient is. After the legal death has been declared, technicians intervene that mechanically restore ventilation to the lungs and blood flow to the brain. Then, the body is immersed in ice water to be transported to a cryogenesis center. Here, the cryoprotective solution is injected intravenously to prevent tissue freezing. Then, the body is immersed in liquid nitrogen and is first brought to a temperature of -125 degrees Celsius and then at -196 degrees.
