someone asked me this inside my community:

“How long should it take for a young healthy couple to actually conceive. I know they usually say a year but I have heard 6 months.”

No…
Actually, it can happen in just ONE cycle 😅

You’ve been trying for months now…
doing everything they say you should — tracking with apps, peeing on strips, taking your prenatal, and supplementing with COQ10…

A positive ovulation test does NOT mean you actually ovulated 👀🫣

I hear it over and over again from women who have been trying to conceive for MONTHS…

“My test strip says I’m positive, but I don’t have any cervical mucus.”
“My test strip says I’m positive… so why am I not getting pregnant?”

Here’s the thang a lang

LH strips only tell you that your body attempted to ovulate — not that ovulation actually happened.

They measure a surge in LH (luteinizing hormone), which usually rises as ovulation approaches…
but real life sh*t can interrupt that process — stress, travel, sickness, poor sleep,…

All these can delay or stop ovulation, even after a positive LH test.
�Which is why so many women are peeing on strip after strip, doing it when they get a positive result, and still not getting pregnant.

Because a positive test DOES NOT confirm ovulation.

If you’re not seeing fertile-quality cervical mucus, and you’re not confirming ovulation, your body is telling you it does not feel safe enough to ovulate.

And THAT needs to be the focus.

Because if you knew ovulation didn’t happen, you’d avoid the anxious 2-week wait and monthly let-down…

You’d stop wondering if you timed things right…

And instead, you’d focus on the actions required to help your body feel safe enough to ovulate — so conception can actually happen.

PART 5: I’d be in bed before 10pm & start intentionally winding down about an hour before then.

Because Here’s the THANG A LANG👇

If you’re staying up til midnight, falling asleep watching the show you’re currently binging, scrolling in bed saving reels about how to boost your fertility…👀

You’re disrupting your circadian rhythm.

And when sleep is DOODOO, your body can’t repair, detox, and regulate hormones properly.

When you wind down intentionally before bed (a cup of tea, a book, the bible, meditation, stretching, catching up with your partner,…) and fall asleep before 10AM — you’ll sleep better.

When you sleep well, your hormones can function optimally and conception can happen naturally more easily 😉🤌

Soooooo…
HOLLA when you’re ready to drop the quick-fix mainstream approach (Clomid, Letrozole, Mucinex, IUI, IVF,…) and get pregnant the natural way by creating the internal conditions that make conception possible 👏

“I came off hormonal birth control a few months ago, but I’m not getting pregnant.”

Yeah...because hormonal birth control keeps you from cycling naturally in an effort to keep you from getting pregnant 🫠😅

And in the process of doing so, it’s MESSED WITH YOUR HORMONE HEALTH significantly.

Your body needs time to recalibrate. Your hormones need proper attention so they can get back to doing their jobs.

But if you want to cycle regularly, ovulate consistently and conceive naturally fast, you’re gonna have to put in the work to rebuild safety in your body —

Enough nutrients

You’ve been TTC for months doing everything you thought you were supposed to do…

seeing doctor after doctor, getting your hormones tested & blood work done only to be offered a bandaid “fix” like Clomid or progesterone and being told to “try this for 6 months and see..”

peeing on a million strips and tracking your cycle obsessively with 3 different apps only to continue being unsure about your timing…

Going down rabbit holes on TikTok, googling sh*t till 2AM considering hacks like Mucinex to avoid having to go through another longgg AF 2-week wait...

But, continuing down this mainstream path is exactly why months keep going by without a positive test.

PART 4: I’d prioritize at least one serving of leafy greens every single day.

They’re nutritional powerhouses - and honestly, there have been seasons where I’d forget about them.

Lately it’s been easy because I joined a local farm’s CSA and get fresh leafy greens delivered weekly. But, when the store ones don’t look fresh, I skip them.

Not ideal.

Because leafy greens help your body digest food, clear out excess hormones, and keep things moving — which is essential when you’re trying to get pregnant.

If you’re not having them regularly, you’re likely missing out on fiber to support digestion and poopin’ on the reg, plus minerals like magnesium & folate, and compounds that help your liver detox excess hormones

When detox pathways are sluggish, hormones won’t be regulated and produced well.

When your gut and liver are supported, you absorb nutrients better, clear excess hormones efficiently, and create a safe environment for conception.

This morning I told my husband:
“Pretty sure my period’s coming today.”

Not because I felt terrible, or because I was in pain…
Just because I know my body really well and I can feel it.

But, it doesn’t throw a wrench in my day.

I woke up at 6AM after a nice 8 hours of sleep…
My husband & I got freaky 👀🤭 haha
I got up in a good mood and made my girls blueberry buckwheat waffles from scratch.
I played with my daughter, Azula.
Answered clients in Telegram.
Did a low-impact workout.
And also cooked lunch.

Just a normal day.

I’m not popping painkillers.
I’m not too tired to play with my girls.
I’m not snapping at my husband.

My mood is stable. My energy is steady.�And I can be the mom I want to be whether I’m on cycle day 1, 14, or 25.

Because I built a lifestyle that supports my hormones BEFORE I tried to grow a family.

I refined my diet and lifestyle habits so my body had what it needed to feel SAFE👇

enough nutrients, stable blood sugar, a regulated nervous system, aa healthy gut and liver, and a movement routine that follows the ebb & flow of my hormones.

You want to get pregnant naturally fast.
