From energy efficiency and water conservation to addressing food insecurity, AmeriCorps members at the Greater Miami Service Corps are truly “Getting Things Done.”

Every day, our members serve communities across Miami-Dade, supporting energy efficient homes, protecting our environment and public lands, and helping families access the resources they need. Through service, leadership, and teamwork, these young leaders are making a real difference where it matters most.

Greater Miami Service Corps (GMSC) held a Youth Summit focused on breaking the stigma and bringing awareness to HIV and AIDS among our young leaders. Through education and open dialogue, participants gained valuable information about prevention, health resources, and the importance of supporting one another in creating healthier communities.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our partners who helped make this important conversation possible: The Family Foundation, Her Voice, Striving Through All Negativity (S.T.A.N.), BORINQUEN Health Care Center, Clear Health Alliance, Care Resource, Clear Alliance, and the Florida Department of Health.

Together, we continue empowering young people with knowledge, leadership, and the confidence to make informed decisions for themselves and their communities.

Members of the American Red Cross are providing Disaster Readiness Training to teams from the Greater Miami Service Corps, equipping our young leaders with the knowledge and skills needed to support our community before, during, and after emergencies.

✨ Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service ✨
Volunteers came together to honor Dr. King’s legacy through action and service along MLK Boulevard. Sponsored by the City of Miami and hosted by Chairwoman Christine King, Community Services Department, Greater Miami Service Corps in partnership with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated – Gamma Zeta Omega Chapter, Top Ladies of Distinction, Miami Chapter, and Citizens for a Better South Florida, the day focused on painting benches, removing litter and debris, and restoring the MLK Marquee. Citizens for a Better South Florida provided environmental education and attendees received plants to support improving the county's tree canopy.
