If you’re a caregiver or know someone who is, we encourage you to reach out and utilize these resources. No one should face this journey alone. Thank you for the love, patience, and dedication you show every day. ✨💙

💙 As the federal government shutdown continues, many Miami-Dade families who rely on SNAP benefits are facing uncertainty about their access to essential food assistance.

In response, Miami-Dade County has activated an emergency effort to ensure that residents in need can continue to access nutritious food during this time.

If you or someone you know has been affected, several local food assistance programs are offering support across the county. We’ve gathered key community resources on the flyer below to help connect residents with available services.

At NAMI Miami-Dade, we recognize that access to basic needs, such as food, is essential to overall well-being. Together, we can make sure no one in our community goes without the help they need.

Find food assistance resources on the flyer above. 💙

💙✨ Help Us Bring Comfort and Care to Those Who Need It Most!

NAMI Miami-Dade is putting together Care Kits — and we need your help to make them complete. We’re collecting essentials such as mini soaps, toothbrushes, alcohol-free toothpaste, lotion, feminine hygiene products, tissues, socks, blankets, and more. Every item you donate brings a little comfort and support to someone in need.

Drop off your donations at our office Monday–Friday, 9 am–5 pm:
📍 3150 SW 38th Ave, Suite 500, Miami, FL 33146

Together, we can show our community that even small gestures make a big difference. Let’s spread care, compassion, and hope — one kit at a time. ✨💙

💚✨ Your mental health deserves your attention.

Mel Robbins reminds us that taking care of your mental health isn’t optional – it’s essential. Prioritizing time for yourself, even in small ways, can make a huge difference.

At NAMI Miami-Dade, we’re here to support you with free programs, including Peer-to-Peer, Family-to-Family, support groups, and our helpline. These services create spaces where your journey matters and you can care for yourself without judgment.

Make space for your mental health today. Honor your needs, your pace, and your growth—because it truly matters. ✨💚

💙✨ Reel Minds 2025 was an unforgettable celebration of mental health storytelling!

This year’s festival brought together storytellers, advocates, community partners, and attendees for a weekend full of films, panels, and conversations that reminded us just how powerful art can be in transforming the way we think about mental health.

With over 200 attendees, 10 featured films, three panels, and countless moments of connection, Reel Minds 2025 was a celebration of courage, creativity, and community—a true reflection of what happens when art meets advocacy. From the laughter and applause to the heartfelt conversations that followed each screening, every moment reminded us why this festival matters. When we share our experiences, we break stigma, foster empathy, and create understanding.

We want to extend our deepest thanks to our incredible panelists — Keshad Johnson, Cat Marcell, Lexi Rivero, Rafal Sokolowski, Tiffinie Bratcher, Liz Bocanegra, Susan Racher, Matthew Racher, Dr. Edward Suarez, Adam Stolz, and Kristy Figueras — whose honesty, vulnerability, and insight sparked meaningful dialogue throughout the weekend. Their stories opened hearts, inspired reflection, and helped our community see mental health through a more human lens.

A special congratulations goes to the Chrysalis Award winner, “Komoru Panda, a hikikomori story,” and a huge thank you to our jurors — Rafal Sokolowski, Ashley Kolaya, Mädchen Amick, Suman Ghosh, and Cathyana Marcel — whose thoughtful deliberation helped select this year’s winner.

And to our community partners and attendees — thank you for attending, for listening, for sharing your space, and for helping us continue to build a culture of openness and compassion. Your presence made the festival come alive.

We can’t wait for Reel Minds 2026! ✨💙

💚✨🍂 Happy Daylight Savings Sunday!

As we “fall back” and gain an extra hour today, let’s use it to check in with ourselves and prioritize self-care. Whether that’s curling up with a good book, connecting with someone you love, or simply taking a quiet moment for yourself, give yourself permission to slow down and recharge.

Embrace the cozy vibes of the season, and remember—taking care of your mental health is always worth the extra time. Don’t forget to reset your clocks! 🍂✨💚

💙✨ On this Día de Mu***os, we honor the rich tradition of remembering our loved ones who have passed and paying our respects to their lives.

Originating in Mexico but celebrated by many Latin American communities, this day invites us to reflect on their lives and legacies, embracing both the joy of their memories and the sadness of their absence. As we remember, it’s also important to acknowledge the impact grief can have on our mental health.

Let’s come together to support one another, sharing love, understanding, and compassion as we navigate this meaningful journey of remembrance and reflection. ✨💙

💚✨🎃 Happy Halloween from all of us at NAMI Miami-Dade! Can you guess who we are? (Hint: we’re feeling a little “ogre” joyed today!)

As you get into your costumes and enjoy the treats, remember: just like the best Halloween stories, our mental health journeys have twists, turns, and surprises. Today (and always), take a moment to check in with yourself and those around you—it’s okay to take off the mask and share how you’re really feeling.

Whether you’re out trick-or-treating or having a cozy night in, your feelings matter. Let’s support each other and shine a little light on mental health this Halloween! 🎃✨💚
