Join NAMI Miami-Dade for the 2026 Volunteer Appreciation Awards, an inspiring evening dedicated to honoring the incredible individuals who make our work possible. Led by trained facilitators with lived experience, Peer-to-Peer offers a safe, judgment-free space to explore your recovery, build skills, and connect with others who understand. You’ll gain tools for self-awareness, stress management, communication, and more — all while fostering hope, connection, and community.

This special and shortened format brings the full course into two in-person sessions:

Join NAMI Miami-Dade for Ending the Silence for Staff, a 1-hour presentation designed to give school staff, educators, and administrators the knowledge and tools to support students’ mental health. You’ll learn about the warning signs of mental health conditions in youth, both at school and at home, and the critical role stigma plays in seeking help.

We’ll also cover how to start conversations with students who may be struggling, how to partner effectively with families, and how to share local resources to support staff, students, and families alike. On March 13th, NAMI Miami-Dade’s President & CEO, Susan Holtzman, was honored to serve as a keynote speaker at Florida International University’s Biscayne Bay Campus for the Wertheim Community Healthcare Conference: Promoting Mental Health & Resiliency.

During her remarks, she shared her personal story and insights on the importance of community-based mental health support and the work of NAMI Miami-Dade, highlighting the collective role we all play in building a more informed, compassionate, and resilient community.
