MDFT - Multidimensional Family Therapy

MDFT - Multidimensional Family Therapy A Proven Family-Centered Treatment that Transforms Young Lives and Sets the Course for a Better Future.

MDFT International, Inc is a 501(c)3 non-profit public charity dedicated to improving the lives of youth and their families by providing training and consultation services to help clinical providers implement Multidimensional Family therapy (MDFT). MDFT is a comprehensive, flexible family-based intervention for adolescent substance abuse, delinquency, and related behavioral and emotional problems. MDFT directly addresses problems in adolescent, parent and family functioning while enhancing the factors that change behaviors, heal relationships, and support positive development. MDFT is a scientifically proven evidence-based practice (EBP) that works actively with families, educators, the juvenile justice system, and other community collaborators to deliver effective treatment. Our overall mission is to improve the quality of prevention and treatment services for youth and their families by training providers in this highly effective intervention. There are currently over 100 MDFT programs in the United States, Canada and Western Europe, and we provide services to therapists, public and private organizations, communities, states/provinces, and nations. The intervention has been implemented successfully in a wide range of clinical settings, within different types of programs, and with diverse youth and families. You may find a listing of our locations and other information on our website.

We may have missed Fentanyl Awareness Day on August 21, but the message is too important to overlook. The risks are real; fentanyl is often hidden in counterfeit pills and street drugs, making every use potentially life-threatening. Yet, there is hope. With increased awareness, support for those in recovery, and access to tools like Narcan, lives can be saved.

This Overdose Awareness Month, let’s take time to honor the lives lost, support those who are healing, and spread knowledge that can protect others.
