Pero el examen final no mide velocidad ni fuerza.
Mide si el perro puede ignorar lo que más quiere perseguir.
Un gato camina frente a la formación. Sin correa. Sin barrera. A metros de distancia.
El perro que se levanta, reprueba.
El perro que tiembla pero no se mueve, reprueba.
El perro que permanece quieto como si el gato no existiera — ese está listo.

As part of the K9 certification process in Japan, candidates undergo weeks of physical training, advanced obedience, and tracking.
But the final exam measures neither speed nor strength.
It measures whether the dog can ignore the very thing it wants to chase most.
A cat walks in front of the formation. Off-leash. With no barriers. Just meters away.
The dog that stands up—fails.
The dog that trembles but doesn't move—fails.
The dog that remains perfectly still, as if the cat didn't exist—that one is ready.
