📣 CE Announcement: It's time for DCPA's 29th Annual Residency Program on January 25 and 26, 2025 (Saturday and Sunday), featuring the South Florida Residents. This program has become a stepping stone, helping entry level pharmacists become tomorrow’s shining stars.

What a way to start off the new year - take care of a full year’s worth of continuing education - done! This year we are providing the 2 hours of Medication Errors & Continuous Quality Assurance. So if you are a regular participant, you know that in 2 years’ time, you will complete all of your continuing education requirements.

We are also announcing a NEW VENUE for the Live conference: Larkin University College of Pharmacy, 18301 N. Miami Ave. Miami, FL 33169.

In addition, the conference will be available via ZOOM (with an additional fee).

📣 News from the FPA: It's been a BIG day! Today, during a well-attended ceremony in Jupiter, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed The Prescription Drug Reform Act – which will go into effect in just a few months, on July 1, 2023 – establishing critical protections for both patients and independent pharmacists who have been subject to powerful pharmacy benefit managers' predatory practices for far too long.

📣: 🎷🎶 The Dade County Pharmacy Association is helping sponsor weekly Jazz at Jackson events starting *TODAY* (11/3) at noon in the Alamo Park at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

The weekly Thursday concerts had been suspended due to COVID, but are now back on! The association wanted to ensure that all healthcare providers and patients were, once again, treated to the healing power of music.

If you work downtown in the Health District area, please stop by and make sure to let the organizers know that you have contributed to these events as members of the DCPA. Enjoy! 🎶🎷

Each person in attendance must sign in individually to receive CE credit. If sharing occurs, attendance cannot be confirmed to the Board of Pharmacy and will jeopardize your CE Credits.

The Florida Pharmacy Association is currently conducting an ongoing and active search for an Executive Director. As you may know, Michael Jackson, the long-time caretaker of the Association has announced his retirement. There is a search committee that will be interviewing several candidates. As we are informed, we will share this information with you.

Jacob Johnson, Pharm.D., will be sworn in as Region 8 (that's us!) Representative at the FPA Annual Meeting in July. He will carry on the duties of representing Dade County Pharmacy Association as well as the Interamerican Pharmacist Association at the Board of Directors meeting for 2022-2024. Congratulations, Dr. Johnson!
