On Nov. 19, Thriving Mind’s Shaymaa Abdrabou, MS, CBHCM, Care Coordinator, Florida Department of Corrections Re-Entry Program, and Estefany Velazco, BA, Adult System of Care Administrative Assistant, attended the Reentry Fair at South Florida Reception Center, South Unit. The event was a Reentry Resource Fair for inmates releasing back into the community within the next 90 days. The organizations in attendance represented various needs such as employment, educational/vocational services, probation, family services, mental health, and substance use treatment services.

Thriving Mind staff and leadership – Laura Naredo, COO; Maria Guajardo, VP of Behavioral Health; and Alisa Surenskaya, Children’s System of Care Manger – attended a ribbon cutting today at WestCare/The Village South’s new location in Doral. The site will house its new Full Case Management Agency for child welfare as well as Mobile Response Team. Also in attendance were Violet Ryland, Gilda Ferradaz, and Cristina Perez from the Department of Children and Families, and Esther Jacobo from Citrus Family Care Network; Mario Jardon and Maria Alonso from Citrus Health Network/ Citrus Family Care Network.
