Did you know that Vegetables are rich in phytochemicals-which is a naturally o-ccurring plant chemical? They are being explored for their potential to regulate hormones, stimulate the immune system, and prevent damage to our body's cells.

A good rule of thumb is to incorporate vegetables into your meals, filling at least half of each plate with a variety of brightly colored vegetables.

Vegetables are particularly good for a liver detox this include onions, garlic, beets, artichokes, and cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, collard greens, kale, and Brussels sprouts.
Other vegetables to eat include asparagus, carrots, celery, cucumbers, endives, Jicama, kohlrabi, leeks, lettuce, okra, parsnips, radishes, Rutabaga, snow peas, spinach, sprouts, squash, sweet potatoes, turnips, watercress, yams, Yucca, Zucchini, and sea vegetables including Arame, Dulse, Hijiki-in moderation, Kelp, Nori sheets, and Wakame, and much more. When someone cooks for you, it's important to not take them for granted.
Cooking is a gift and it's an act of kindness, selflessness, care and appreciation towards the recipient of the meal. It nurtures the very soul of who we serve.

Cooking is a connection to nature: 
Food is a natural connection to the cycle of life and nature.

Cooking is a symbol of openness: 
Cooking can be a way to open the heart, mind, and soul.

Cooking is a way to express history and traditions: 
Cooking can be a way to express a cook's history, traditions, and dedication to their craft.

Cooking is a way to contribute to goodwill: 
Well-prepared food can contribute to goodwill and happy companionship. 

When someone cooks for you, show your appreciation by asking about the story behind the dish, such as where or from whom they learned the recipe. 

Cooking is a gift of love, be appreciative as much goes into the act of cooking... it is not a pre-packaged meal with a number...
Relax, celebrate and enjoy with a full heart and consume happily... contribute to the goodwill and happy companionship.  😊 👩‍🍳🍍🔪

Traditional Haitian Bread is the most common bread you will find in Haiti.
The bread comes in many shapes and sizes, and it is served mostly with coffee, peanut butter, butter, or just plain.
Well, this bsking class was for my 3rd, 4th, 5th graders. We allow the student to choose a dish they would like to create from different countries. One of my students wanted to recreate a healthier version of the delicious Hatian Bread and made vegan. So here it is, served with a delicious hot chocolate and coconut cream.
This version of the Haitian Bread is so delicious that her grandmother from Haiti was impressed! Once you try it, you will never buy bread again.
Was by far an excellent class as we also include some Haitian culinary history along with festivities and customs.👍🤸‍♂️🌈🤸‍♀️👩‍🍳🔪💯🍍
