The Silver Knight Award, sponsored by , recognizes exceptional high school students for their academic excellence and extraordinary commitment to community service. In the weeks leading up to their interviews on April 15, we will be spotlighting each of our nominees.
We continue the series with our Social Science nominee, Georgette Galvez-Cuesta ’26. Her service project, “Teens for Green,” is an award-winning recycling program that empowers young people to recycle properly and promote environmental responsibility. She oversees the program’s service initiatives, social media efforts and was awarded a $500 Lead4Change National Grant in support of the project. She manages weekly volunteers and recyclable collection across campus, averaging 436 pounds per month, and has established an executive board to further strengthen and sustain the program’s impact.
Beyond her service work, Georgie is an active member of the school community. She serves as the Student Council Executive Board President, Director of Leadership for DECA, Environmental Club Service Coordinator and a member of the Varsity Softball team. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, Sigma Tau Delta Honor Society, Rho Kappa Honor Society and Business Honor Society.
Congratulations, Georgie! We are proud to have you represent our school as a Silver Knight nominee.
