Through our partnership with A1 Credit, Riverside House is expanding the tools available to individuals navigating reentry and homelessness, offering more than temporary help but a path toward long-term stability and self-sufficiency.

From credit repair and financial literacy to job readiness, legal support, and skill-building programs, A1 Credit is helping our residents take practical steps toward independence. These services are available to both Riverside Emergency Shelter clients and Bureau of Prisons residents, meeting people where they are and helping them move forward with confidence.

One powerful example is Derrick Miller, a former BOP resident who, with A1 Credit’s support, earned his CDL license and secured a well-paying position in waste management, a milestone that reflects what’s possible when the right guidance is paired with determination.

We’re grateful for partners like Ms. Jennifer and the A1 Credit team, who believe in second chances and invest in real, lasting transformation. When communities work together, lives change.💙🙌

On this Christmas Eve, we pause to remember the heart of the season. ✨

It was on a quiet night, in humble surroundings, that hope entered the world, reminding us that light often arrives where it’s least expected.

At Riverside House, we see that same hope every day: in lives being restored, in faith being renewed, and in new beginnings taking root.

As we prepare our hearts for Christmas, we wish you and your loved ones a blessed and peaceful Christmas Eve. May it be filled with reflection, gratitude, and the promise that no story is ever beyond redemption. 🙏💙

Peace, hope, and joy to you this night.

This December, Riverside House walked alongside 97 individuals on their journey forward, 68 residents living on campus and 29 clients in home confinement, each taking daily steps toward stability and renewal.

We also welcomed 15 new residents seeking a fresh start, and celebrated 3 clients who successfully reintegrated back into society, milestones that remind us why this work matters.

Progress doesn’t always make headlines, but it happens quietly every day: in commitment, in growth, and in hope restored.

We’re grateful to continue this mission serving, supporting, and believing in new beginnings, one life at a time.💙

For more than 42 years, Riverside House has stood on one simple belief: rehabilitation with dignity is possible.

What began in 1973 as a faith-led vision has grown into a place where thousands of men and women have rebuilt their lives, rediscovered purpose, and found hope beyond their past.

That mission continues today, and your support helps carry it forward.

If you feel led to give, your donation helps ensure that dignity, guidance, and second chances remain available to those who need them most. 💙

Through our partnership with The Frame Project, Riverside House residents received something truly life-changing: the ability to see clearly again. 💙👓

When a person is rebuilding their life after incarceration or homelessness, even the smallest victory can be a turning point. A pair of glasses means:
✔ Confidence in job interviews
✔ The ability to read, learn, and stay connected
✔ Restored independence and dignity
✔ A clearer path forward — literally and spiritually

We sat down with Nadien D’Arcangelo, founder of The Frame Project, to learn more about her passion for making vision care accessible to underserved communities and the meaningful moments she experienced while serving our residents.

Her heart for restoration reflects exactly what we believe: when you give someone the tools to see their future again… Hope comes back into focus.

Huge thanks to The Frame Project for helping transform lives one pair of glasses at a time!

Healthcare should heal, not leave people behind. 💙

That’s why partnerships like our collaboration with the Miami Med Reentry Care Clinic (BRIDGE Clinic) mean so much. Their incredible team, including medical student and advocate Stacey Li, is meeting justice-involved individuals right where they are, making sure that barriers like mistrust, finances, or a difficult past don’t stand in the way of basic, life-changing care.

From our recent Health Fair to ongoing support, they are helping rebuild what incarceration often strips away: dignity, trust, and access to wellness.

Stacey shared with us a powerful insight on:
✨ Why reentry healthcare matters
✨ What she’s learned from serving our residents
✨ How this work is shaping the future of medicine

We are grateful for partners who see the value, resilience, and humanity in every person walking through a second chance.

This holiday season, we’re reflecting on the people who embody the heart of Riverside House, and today, we honor one of them: our President and CEO, Cleveland Bell III. 💙

Mr. Bell once stood where many of our residents stand today, searching for a second chance and a new beginning. Instead of letting his past define him, he chose a life of purpose… and for more than 47 years, he has poured that purpose into others.

Because of his leadership, thousands of men and women have found shelter, dignity, hope, and a reason to believe again.

As we celebrate a season centered on renewal, grace, and new life, we’re grateful for a leader who reminds us what redemption looks like in action. ✨

Thank you, Mr. Bell, for choosing every day to serve, to lead, and to believe that no story is ever too far gone. 🙏

At Riverside House, volunteers bring hope to those who feel forgotten, friendship to those who feel alone, and dignity to those learning to rebuild.

From pastors to students, from business owners to graduates, our volunteers are proof that when a community shows up with compassion, lives change. Every prayer, every word of encouragement, every moment spent reminds our residents that they are valued and capable of a new beginning.

No time is too little. No act of kindness is too small. Every volunteer becomes part of a story of restoration and faith. 💙

Our Mission & Vision

Mission: Riverside House exists to guide men and women convicted of crime into becoming productive citizens through a non-denominational, faith-based approach.

Vision: That all individuals, whether imprisoned in mind or spirit, will lead positive and productive lives when given the opportunity to succeed. Riverside House seeks to change the lives of at-risk individuals (regardless of gender or culture) through community and residential programs that emphasize personal accountability, family relationships, and spiritual growth.

We envision a future where the formerly incarcerated are good citizens and neighbors – productive, educated, with strong family and spiritual values, playing an equal role in contributing to a safe and vibrant community.
