🚨 BREAKING: President Trump issues an executive order aimed at boosting the supply of glyphosate-based herbicides, even suggesting producers receive “immunity” protections under the Defense Production Act.
Glyphosate, the main ingredient in Roundup, was created by Monsanto and is now owned by Bayer, which bought the company for $63 billion in 2018.
In 2015, the World Health Organization classified glyphosate as “probably carcinogenic.” 🦠
Hundreds of studies have linked it to an increased risk of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
A 2016 UCSF study found 93% of Americans tested positive for glyphosate.
In 2022, the CDC detected it in 87% of 650 children tested and 80% of 1,600 adults.
Bayer currently faces more than 170,000 lawsuits.
In 2024, a jury ordered Bayer to pay $2.25 billion to John McKivison, who developed non-Hodgkin lymphoma after using Roundup for 20 years.
Glyphosate is everywhere, and growing research has raised many concerns about its health risks. Now federal policy is moving to expand its use on our food.
The United States already maintains a strong and stable food supply.
Increasing reliance on glyphosate is not necessary to sustain agricultural output and raises serious concerns about long-term public health in this country.
