Dietitians play an important role in patient care by helping identify and support patients who may need nutrition intervention. Their day often begins with screening patients and reviewing labs to better understand their nutritional needs before meeting with them directly.
They then collaborate closely with physicians, pharmacists, and the broader care team to develop nutrition plans that support recovery and overall health.
From helping address malnutrition to guiding patients through dietary changes during treatment or recovery, dietitians help ensure patients receive the nutrition they need to heal and feel better.

Join us in celebrating our University of Miami providers this National Hospitalist Day.
Hospitalists are physicians who care for patients throughout their hospital stay. They oversee daily medical management, guide diagnoses and treatment, and lead the care team to ensure safe, coordinated care. By focusing exclusively on hospitalized patients, they help support a smoother transition from admission through discharge.
