šŸŒŸ What is Bilateral Stimulation? šŸŒŸ

Bilateral stimulation is a therapeutic technique that involves engaging both hemispheres of the brain usually through rhythmic, alternating stimuli like tapping, eye movements, or sounds. Itā€™s often used to help process trauma, reduce anxiety, and improve emotional regulation.

One accessible and soothing way to experience bilateral stimulation is through bilateral music aka music designed to alternate between your left and right ears. This gentle back-and-forth can help calm the nervous system and support healing in a simple, enjoyable way.

Anxiety is one of the most common concerns people bring to our counseling center, and it makes sense because the world can be loud, fast, and demanding. Anxiety shows up when the brain believes youā€™re in danger, even when youā€™re not. In therapy, we help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and physiology interact, and we guide them in developing skills that bring the body back to safety. We chose the name Lotus Counseling Center because of what the lotus flower represents...resiliency, creation and rebirth. The lotus flower's roots dig deep in the soil and push through in order to bloom. We look forward to working with you!
