Prevent Blindness has designated April as Women’s Eye Health and Safety Awareness Month!

🔎 Did you know that women make up most of the 4.4 million Americans age 40+ who are visually impaired or blind?

These are the most common diagnoses for women, that could cause vision loss if left untreated:

🔹Diabetic-retinopathy, causes damage to the blood vessels in the back of the eye

The American Academy of Ophthalmology has made April Sports Eye Safety Month. Each year, an estimated 100,000 people are hurt by sports-related eye injuries. About 13,500 of these injuries result in permanent vision loss. The American Academy of Ophthalmology reminds athletes everywhere that the great majority of sports-related eye injuries can be avoided by simply wearing the proper protection.
