Members of our team enjoyed a very heartfelt and informative visit to Miami Dade College Medical Campus. Graciously led by campus president Dr. Alwyn Leiba, and his team, ALC was able to experience the interactive simulation hospital which was extraordinary. The highlight of the visit was a chance meeting with a nursing student who is a Pediatric Cancer Survivor! He and our president: Raymond Rodriguez-Torres met ten years ago when he was a patient undergoing treatment at the hospital. Now, he is completing his coursework at Miami Dade College to become a registered nurse to help the very patients like he once was. It’s experiences such as these that fuel our passion of helping others. As we look forward to expanding the “305 Nursing Initiative” in the future, we are grateful for our partners at Miami Dade College and all who dedicate themselves to serve our community. Earlier this month, our President & co-CEO, Raymond Rodriguez-Torres was inducted into the Christopher Columbus Hall of Fame for his contributions to humanity and specifically childhood cancer. He joined our Chairman and Co-CEO Rolando Medina who was inducted previously for his outstanding accomplishments in Athletics. Congratulations gentlemen!

Last night our President: Raymond Rodriguez-Torres enjoyed the honor of serving as “Principal for the Day” for Miami-Dade County Public Schools at SW Adult Education Center. He even received an EKG from the students! He enjoyed sharing his career experience in healthcare and his passion for childhood cancer research via Live Like Bella. Thank you Ms. Judy Rodriguez, Mr. Santana and everyone at SW Adult Education Center! We look forward to welcoming your students to ALC one day soon!
