Cushing Counseling is expanding and we’re looking for a licensed S*x Therapist (LPC, LMFT, LCSW, PsyD, PhD) licensed in Virginia, Maryland, or Washington D.C. We will fully pay for your Florida Telehealth Registration, allowing you to work with clients in multiple states.

This is a great fit for clinicians who love the clinical work but are exhausted by marketing, inconsistent referrals, and administrative tasks. We handle all business operations marketing, scheduling, billing, tech, and client acquisition so you can focus exclusively on providing exceptional care.

On my birthday, I received one of the most meaningful gifts I could imagine - official recognition as an AASECT Certified S*x Therapist.

This has been years in the making - from my very first graduate school class to countless hours of coursework, supervision, and client work. To reach this milestone on my birthday feels like a beautiful full-circle moment. I’m deeply honored to join the community of AASECT-certified professionals and to continue advancing accessible, evidence-based, and compassionate s*x therapy. 💜

Welcome to the team, Alexandria Da Ponte-Cheatham, M.Ed., M.Div!

We’re thrilled to introduce Alexandria as our newest Resident in Counseling at Cushing Counseling!

Alexandria is a brilliant, warm, and compassionate therapist with a strong foundation in culturally competent, trauma-informed care. She holds master’s degrees from both William & Mary and Duke University, and brings deep expertise in working with adults and couples navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, identity, and relational challenges.

She is especially passionate about supporting LGBTQIA+ clients and helping individuals explore the intersections of s*x, spirituality, faith, and healing.
