We brought The Very Hungry Caterpillar to life with a fun, hands-on activity! 🌈

Using color sorting cups and matching balls, we worked on:
✨ Sorting skills (by color)
✨ Naming colors and objects
✨ Describing (big/small, same/different, more/less)
✨ Vocabulary growth through play and storytelling

This activity is a perfect example of how play-based therapy builds meaningful language skills in a natural, engaging way. 💬

📚 When we pair movement, visuals, and a favorite story, learning sticks!

📢 ✨ Our office will be closed tomorrow (Friday, March 27th) as our therapists take time to attend continuing education.

Summer spots are filling FAST! ☀️

We’re already seeing families get ahead by sending referrals NOW instead of waiting until school is out, and it’s making all the difference in securing summer appointments!

If you’re considering services this summer with our clinic, April is the time to start. While we handle the process for you, there are several important steps for us to follow and they can take time:
✔️ Step 1: Request a referral from your P*P
✔️ Step 2: We submit for prior authorization with insurance
✔️ Step 3: Schedule the initial evaluation to determine need
✔️ Step 4: Complete and write the evaluation report
✔️ Step 5: Submit report + documentation to insurance for approval
✔️ Step 6: Schedule recurring sessions for summer ☀️

We take care of the heavy lifting, but starting early ensures everything is approved and ready so your child/loved one can begin services without delays!

⏳ Waiting until May or June can mean limited availability or delays in starting care.

👉🏼 Here’s something we don’t talk about enough...

There are families in our community who need speech therapy services, and don’t have access to them.

Not because the need isn’t there. Not because families aren’t trying. But because insurance doesn’t always cover what’s necessary, and the cost can be out of reach.

💫 To help close that gap, we’ve created a Patient Access Fund focused on making sure children can receive essential therapy services, regardless of financial barriers.

🧠🍜 Why Questions + Knockout Noodle = Language FUN! 🍜🧠

Today in therapy, we paired the “Why?” question cards with Learning Resources Knockout Noodle Game and it was a hit! 🙌

As we scooped noodles and spun the wheel, we practiced answering “why” questions like:
👉 Why do we wear shoes?
👉 Why do we eat vegetables?
👉 Why do we use an umbrella?

💬 This activity targets:
✔️ Expanding expressive language
✔️ Building reasoning skills
✔️ Improving sentence structure
✔️ Increasing engagement through play

🎯 Bonus: The hands-on component keeps even our wiggliest learners motivated and participating!

✨ Try it at home: Pair any game with simple “why” questions to turn playtime into powerful language learning!
