This is for all my friends who have had to start over or had set backs. For those who were in peak performance and search for that same person inside everyday. When life changes and your body starts to change- it’s a humbling experience.

The best thing about having that strength is knowing we can get there again. It wasn’t built overnight and it’s tough at times, but showing up is the only way to get to the next level.

I was wondering when this day would come. Here we are so let’s explain why drinking alcohol is the worst things that an athlete can do to their body.
Alcohol blocks muscle repair, causes dehydration at a deep level, delays recovery, increases inflammation, weakens tendons and joints, and prevents quality REM sleep needed for testosterone and growth hormone production. This leads to slower strength gains, increased soreness, higher injury risk, and negative impacts on body composition.

Ask any athlete who works with me. I’m not shy about telling them to cut out the alcohol if they want to get the most out of working with me. I’m not here to be your yes woman I’m here to make you elite.

Why is it so important for supplements to carry the NSF for Sport or Informed Sport label?

Even if the actual supplement product that you’re taking would never make you test positive for a drug test some of the other products that are made in the same warehouse could interfere with drug test testing, and the particles easily float in the air. Which means that supplements that are certified safe for sport have to be made in a specific warehouse and batch tested to ensure there’s no cross-contamination.
This is also why those products will cost a little bit more certifications come at a high cost to the supplement companies.
In the big picture it’s worth the extra money for peace of mind!

I have nothing more to say because she said it all. The way to be the absolute best athlete in the world is to eat carbs. It will literally change your performance.
I will never understand how or why athletes are afraid of carbs when it’s the entire way they move their body and recover but it’s a huge fear even in the most elite athletes.
Hopefully hearing it from an Olympic gold medalist will help drive the message home!

My 3 day weekend mini fridge haul for my trip to the Olympics! ⛷️
I always stress to my clients the importance of having a high protein breakfast you can grab and go when you’re traveling. Not only will you start your day off fueled well but you save a ton of time and money on eating breakfast out. (Italy & Spain nothing is even open until 10am so good luck with that).

Are multivitamins bad? People on social media are saying multi vitamins can be a waste of money. I disagree, as long as you have a quality vitamin they can be really helpful in filling the gap between
1. People on a caloric deficit who have less food intake and less micronutrients
2. Our food system that is depleted of vitamins by the time it hits our table
3. High performers who have an extra demand for nutrients.

An individualized supplement plan is always ideal but a multi can be a great way to cover your ground if you need to make things simple.

Vitamins are made from animal sources. This isn’t new and if having a vegan supplement is a priority for you- I suggest that you specifically look for vegan on the label. They also can’t use gelatin capsules.

Influencers make a big deal out of common knowledge confuses consumers into thinking they need to change their current routine. And oftentimes that is not the case.

It’s very hard for a larger scale farm to feed their cattle or chicken from grass or worms year round. At some point they may have to rely on a feed which is typically made up of soy or corn.
You could avoid this by going to a local farm as asking thier feeding process then ordering from that farm. But the reality is that most people don’t have the luxury of small farms close by especially if you live in an urban area. It’s not the end to the word to have cows and chickens that are finished with feed. Also vital farms has the best omega 3/6 profile of all the commercially available eggs. And they taste the best.
The truth is- the way animals are treated matter more than the feed they are given.
Ask your farmer that while you order your food from them. Or stop complaining and basic stuff just bc an influencer posted about it .
