On August 7, 2019, ICE stormed seven Mississippi worksites in one of the largest workplace raids in U.S. history—arresting 680 immigrant workers, tearing families apart, and traumatizing entire communities.
That cruelty didn’t end in 2019. It’s still happening—this time, even more aggressively.
In 2025, Operation Tidal Wave in Florida led to the detention of more than 1,200 people in a single sweep—ripping hundreds from their homes and workplaces.
Today, over 700 people remain locked in the Everglades Detention Camp, many taken during these same recent raids. As hurricane season intensifies, they remain caged in tents, vulnerable to extreme heat and deadly storms.
We must end this system of fear, detention, and separation. Our communities deserve safety, dignity, and permanent protections.
