It's WONDERFUL to show your heart a little love ❤️

[AD] In honor of February being Heart Health Month, I passed by to share how and may support our heart health.

Scientific evidence suggests that consuming 1.5oz of nuts, including pistachios, every day - along with a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol - may reduce the risk of heart disease. As a dietitian, as a mom, and as someone who believes nutrition should be sustainable - a little sugar is okay.

Here's the truth about sugar 👇🏻:

🌱Sugar comes from plants making it a natural sweetener

🔮"Refined" means turning plant sugar water into crystals - not adding chemicals

🥣A little sweetness, can actually help kids and adults enjoy more nutrient, and foods like oatmeal, yogurt, tomato sauce, and whole-grain cereal.

🌾Sugar agriculture and processing use very sustainable processes to support our planet

🧁Enjoying foods with sugar in them, also create memories, experiences, and tradition

We don't need to fear sugar -

Sugar is and can be part of a healthy diet.

Let's continue to focus more our balance - not on restriction.

Growth - that's what I've experienced since 2016.

And made 2 more babies along the way.

In 2016, I was a postpartum mom, navigating motherhood in a new town.

I eventually quit my corp job and filed for my business not having a clue what I was doing.

My in laws moved down and we moved in with them (for nearly 2 years) as I figured out our lives.

I realized 1:1 counseling wasn't for me but helping the masses was.

I taught 14 barre classes a week which was fun but also worsened my obsession with fitness for the negative.

Going back to therapy was the best thing I could have ever done and ensuring I spent time with friends and family as often as possible.

Motherhood is hard but it makes you resilient.

Thank God for the past decade. Can't wait to see what happens from now to 2036. 💜💜💜

This [barely cooking] meal has 25g of protein and 28g of fiber. 👊🏻🔥💪🏻

💫Veggie Burger with Potato & Green Bean Fries 💫

Ingredients 👇🏻:
🍠 sweet potato burger
🧀Sliced cheese
🍔 burger bun
🍟Frozen french fries
🫛Frozen green beans
🧄 Garlic powder
🫒 EVOO
🛢️Oil spray
🧂S&P
🌱 Stone ground mustard

Instructions 👇🏻:
🔹Season fries and green beans in an air fryer and mix thoroughly. Begin to air fry.

🔹While fries & green beans are cooking, use a toaster oven to cook your veggie burgers.

🔹When almost done, add a slice of cheese and cook for 1-2 min longer.

🔹Toast buns and spread mustard on bun (or condiment of choice).

🔹Plate and enjoy!

The best part is that this meal can be recreated with any type of frozen burger patty. The fries also make a great combo to air fried carrot chips or asparagus.

Remember, easy cooking and relying on convenience doesn’t mean you’re compromising on nutrition. 😉
