Practicing stillness gives us the space to breathe, reground, and expand so we can feel what matters to us and move with purpose. In fact, with enough practice, we can see that stillness is the most powerful form of movement. Slowing down lets us touch the present moment deeply. When we are still, we can hear the gentle whispers from within that get lost in the noise of life.
We can see things as they truly are, without the blur and abstraction of tension that makes everything in life look like an obstacle instead of a miracle.
Imagine a pond on a calm day. When the water is still, it reflects the sky, clouds, and trees with peaceful clarity. When the wind blows, the water ripples and distorts the reflection. Our mind is like that pond. When it is still, it reflects the world clearly. When it is in motion—filled with urgency, worries, and distraction—our perception becomes unclear.
Creating a meditation practice daily offers us the opportunity to get in touch with clarity, intention, and bliss.
