Morning Restoration Update – Friday, January 30 at 9:15 a.m.
As of this morning, 9,495 PEC members remain without power. Restoration work continues across the system, supported by more than 150 additional lineworkers working alongside our own PEC team.
More lodging has become available, so we have requested more crews to assist with the effort. Some of those are expected to arrive as early as this afternoon.
Lineworkers are out making a hard push today, and restoration efforts will continue through the weekend. This effort will not stop until every member is back on and no one is overlooked.
Lineworkers are focused today in the following areas: Cash School, Refuge area, Preacher Dr., Highway 69 south of Hughes Road, Riverdale Road area, Russom Road area, Shiloh Falls, Smith Circle, Ramer, Chewalla, Guys, River Heights, Hagys area, Holiday Hills, Leath Road , YMCA Lane, Damon Road, Vernie Kirk Road, Hines Gin area, areas north of 3 Way, Stantonville Cemetery, Connie Smith Road, Highway 142, Shiloh area, Hamburg, Stantonville Church of Christ area, Adamsville, Sardie Henry and the Nelson Store area.
This list reflects where larger crews and equipment are concentrating today based on the type and extent of damage in those locations. It does not mean that other areas are being overlooked or ignored.
As restoration progresses, we want to remind members of an important step that can sometimes delay reconnection. If your home has damage to the meter base or weatherhead, that repair must be made by a licensed electrician and inspected before PEC can legally reconnect service. If you suspect damage, we strongly encourage you to begin that process now rather than waiting until power is restored in your area. Taking care of it early can help prevent additional delays.
We know this has been a long, exhausting experience for many of you. We also know words don’t bring the lights back on — only hard work does — and that work is happening every day. Our lineworkers and support staff remain focused on restoring power with safety and urgency, and we are grateful for the patience, understanding and kindness shown by our members.
We’ll share another update as progress continues. Remember to report outages to 1-866-260-4025 and not to this page.
