William H. Root, 82, of Michigan City passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Life Care Center in Michigan City.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Queen of All Saints Church with Rev. Kevin Huber, officiating. Entombment will take place after mass in Saint Stanislaus Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Monday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the Legacy Center at Queen of All Saints Church.

Myles T. Edson, 20, passed away unexpectedly from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident on Tuesday, March 9, 2021.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Private family burial will be at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Monday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Root Funeral Homer and on Tuesday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Root Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Myles was born January 12, 2001 in Seffner, Florida to Boyd Edson and Lisa Carpenter who are both surviving.

Also surviving is his loving girlfriend Jill "Gil" Gilloliolio; one sister, Jesse Lee Edson and one brother Boyd "C.B." Edson and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Myles was a carpenter for local construction companies.

He was a member of the Guardian Riders with his father and a member of John Franklin Miller Post #37 S.A.L.. His smiles always lit up a room and he was loved by everyone, He loved to fly and now he has his wings. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. "Hey dad."

Memorials may be made to the Guardian Riders in care of John Franklin Miller Post #37 in Michigan City.

July 27, 1932 - October 11, 2020

Agnes Rowena (Hardesty) Niswonger, 88, of Michigan City, passed away with her loving family by her side on October 11, 2020 at Rittenhouse Senior Living Center.

The family will hold a small private event at Root Funeral Home to celebrate Rowenas life and to support each other in their time of grief. They hope to hold a larger gathering in the future when everyone can come together safely to remember all of those family members who have passed away over the years and to welcome the many new arrivals.

Rowena was born to the late Bert and Bonnie Hardesty on July 27, 1932 in Blytheville, Arkansas. She married her loving husband, Curtis Niswonger (deceased) on August 2, 1952. Her burial will be at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. She is survived by two sisters, Pauline Presley and Ruth Ann Hugley.

She is also survived by four children, Larry (Roxanne) Niswonger of Michigan City, Lorraine (Dale) Callahan of Syracuse, Indiana, Chuck (Kelly) Niswonger of Powder Springs, Georgia and David (Malinda) Niswonger of Oconto, Wisconsin; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Rowena is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis, two daughters, Vanessa Niswonger and Lynn Hawks; brothers Charles Lafe Hardesty, William (Bill) Hardesty, Zana Sommer, and Gary Leo Hardesty.

She was a member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church for many years and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
