Mission statement: As part of its pastoral mission St. Isidore Parish has maintained and operated a cemetery to provide a fitting final resting place for its beloved departed parishioners and others. It is our goal that the cemetery in addition to being a final resting place is a sacred peaceful place of beauty, where those who mourn can pray for their departed and find comfort.
We want to remind all visitors to St. Mary’s Cemetery of the regulations and policies:
Decorating & Planting Policy: Do’s
• Flowers only (either annuals or perennials) may be planted at base of the monument with the following stipulations:
o Graves with Monuments: Flowers may be placed or planted in area NO longer than the length of the monument base and come out no more than 8” (front only- nothing on sides or back) for ease of mowing.
o On single grave/lot without a Monument: NO Plantings are allowed.

• Upkeep of planted material is the sole responsibility of the person who has planted it and removal of materials to their home. DO NOT leave in the Cemetery.

• Seasonal Decoration Display and Removal Policy: Decoration of the graves is both allowed and encouraged especially on special holidays and occasions: Memorial Day, Easter, Veterans Day, and Christmas, etc. with the following stipulations:

o The decorations must be appropriate for the occasion and are maintained for a limited time period, approximately one month, after which time the person installing the decorations are to remove them.
o If decorations become unsightly or are damaged the Cemetery staff reserves the right to remove and dispose of them.

• Winter/ Spring Clean-up: The Cemetery maintenance staff conducts a major clean-up in the spring usually in early April or as soon as conditions allow and in the fall in late October. Notices will be posted at the entrances as reminders.
o At the time of the major clean-ups, all remaining decorations will be removed and disposed of.
Decorating & Planting Policy- Don’ts
• No shrubs, trees, or bushes may be planted in the planting bed
• NO TRASH PICK-UP - Removal of materials are to be taken out of Cemetery by person who brought them. If the planting and planting beds are NOT maintained, or if inappropriate materials are placed in the bed the Cemetery Administration reserves the right to remove them. The cemetery staff cannot replace plantings thus removed.
• Ornamentals such as plastic decorations, pinwheels, animal figurines, balloons, small fences, patio blocks, stone walls, etc. are NOT allowed.
