🍷 Alcohol & Sleep Apnea: A Risky Combo 💤

Think a nightcap helps you sleep? Think again. If you have sleep apnea, drinking can make things worse. Here's how:

🔹 Relaxes throat muscles – Increases airway collapse, making apnea episodes more frequent
🔹 Delays REM sleep – Disrupts restorative sleep cycles
🔹 Worsens oxygen levels – Can lead to more severe drops during apnea events
🔹 Less restful sleep – Even if you sleep longer, quality suffers
🔹 More snoring, less breathing – Alcohol amplifies snoring and choking episodes

👉 Tip: Avoid alcohol at least 3–4 hours before bed if you have sleep apnea (or suspect you might). Better sleep starts with better choices.
