Congratulations to our November employee of the month, Timothy "Tim" Whittington!

Tim has been with Parkside Villa since 2014, working for our Dietary department. Tim is a valuable team member and is always willing to jump in and help with anything he is asked to do. Tim is highly motivated, exceptionally productive and consistently goes above and beyond to achieve goals. Tim is always happy and cheerful and always ready to jump out and scare you as he is quite the practical joker!

One of Tim's greatest passions is his involvement in the Special Olympics.
Tim has been involved in the Special Olympics since 1998, participating in bowling, basketball, golf, cycling, track and field and softball. He has earned over 50 gold medals and lots of trophies. Tim was the fastest in the state in the 1, 3-, and 5-mile cycling at the state games in Columbus. His basketball team, the MBB (Middleburg, Brook Park, Berea) won the state championship 3 times and was awarded a special proclamation from the city of Middleburg Heights by the mayor and city council. Tim was interviewed on TV about his bowling league when President Obama made a comment about the Special Olympics. Tim even challenged the former president to a game. The group has many activities, parties, and picnics throughout the year as well as helping with many fundraisers to help raise funds for the events he participates in the Special Olympics.

Tim your positive attitude, energy, and passion are inspirational to the entire staff and your willingness to help and support everyone makes work so much easier and enjoyable.

This week, we are proud to spotlight our HR Star Awards, led by our amazing Human Resources Director, Carol. This special program recognizes team members who go above and beyond in serving our residents, families, and community.

Residents and fellow staff members may nominate an employee by completing a Star Cad, available at the front desk or through our concierge, Shelby. Once submitted to our Administrator, each nomination is thoughtfully reviewed by a selection panel.
Each month, one outstanding team member is chosen as our Star Award Winner. Recipients earn a framed certificate, a $100 bonus, and the privilege of parking in our Employee of the Month reserved spot.

We are grateful for all who take the time to recognize the compassion, dedication, and hard work demonstrated by our staff each day!

Today, we're highlighting our Account Manager, Cheryl, and our Marketing Coordinator, Deb, and the amazing team who serve as the bridge between Parkside Villa and our local hospitals, partners, and community.

Working closely with our Admissions Department, Cheryl and Deb ensure that referral communication is smooth, timely, and supportive for everyone involved. Their dedication helps residents and families feel confident and cared for before they even walk through our doors.

We are grateful for the strong relationships they build and the compassionate service they provide every day!

We're so proud to spotlight our Admissions Director, Amy, and Admissions Coordinator, Goya! With years of experience and a true passion for helping others, this dynamic duo ensures a smooth and stress-free transition from hospital to nursing home care.

Amy and Goya go above and beyond, from giving tours and answering questions to assisting with benefits, paperwork, and admission timing. They're there every step of the way to support residents and their families.

Their compassion, organization, and dedication make all the difference in helping new residents feel comfortable and cared for from day one.

Meet our amazing Therapy Department!
At Parkside Villa, our incredible therapy team, made up of highly skilled physical, occupational, and speech therapists, bring years of experience, deep knowledge, and long-standing dedication to our residents.

Thanks to their competency, efficiency, and compassion, our therapy department has built a strong history of successful patient outcomes. They're proud to offer specialized certifications in dry needling for pain management and the LSVT Big and Loud program for individuals with neurological conditions.

This dedicated team goes above and beyond every day to help our residents regain strength, independence, and confidence.

We’re proud to highlight our incredible Director of Nursing, Connie, and Assistant Director of Nursing, Jessica! With over 10 years of dedication each, Connie and Jessica lead our nursing department with compassion, expertise, and unwavering commitment to quality care. Connie has been instrumental in expanding our services — including the addition of on-site dialysis, our ventilator unit, secure memory care, and advanced wound care services. Jessica oversees our long-term care residents and nursing staff, ensuring each resident receives personalized and attentive care every day. Together, they lead outstanding teams that truly make a difference in the lives of our residents. We’re so thankful for their leadership, teamwork, and heart for nursing!

Hello, my name is Pam. I am the Activity Director for Parkside Villa. We in the Parkside Villa Activities Department enjoy taking care of those entrusted to our care. We provide multiple activities throughout our six units daily. We spend time with each resident routinely to help them enjoy their stay with us. Our department also strives to treat each person with the respect they deserve as well as their families. We play Bingo as well as have trivia, various games, cards, discussion groups, musical entertainment, outings, hand massages, as well as occasional nail care. We take pride in knowing all five of us in our department combined have a total of over 80 years of experience in health care.

Hello! My name is Daniel. I am the Social Services Director here at Parkside Villa. My team and I are here to help you and your loved one plan for anything you may need. We help our patients and families with care coordination, such as family meetings, setting up community dialysis, getting medical equipment delivered for homegoing, setting up skilled nursing for homegoing, and setting up physical and occupational therapy for homegoing, just to name a few things we do. In the event your loved one needs more help, we are here to set up placement for long-term care or assisted living. We are here to make your stay as smooth and as coordinated as possible.
