We want to give a big thank you to two of our amazing Friday volunteers, Liam and Braiden! 🐴🧹

These boys show up with great attitudes, kind manners, and a willingness to help wherever they’re needed. From cleaning stalls to tackling chores around the barn, they work hard and never complain—always polite, respectful, and dependable.

We are so grateful for young people who are learning the value of responsibility, teamwork, and service. Liam and Braiden, your help truly makes a difference here at Hope Therapy, and we appreciate you more than you know! 💙

There is something truly special about the healing power of horses. 🐴✨
They don’t rush, they don’t judge, and they don’t ask for explanations. They simply meet you where you are.

Emotionally, horses offer calm and connection. Spiritually, they ground us and invite us to slow down, breathe, and be present. Physically, they help build strength, balance, and confidence in ways that feel natural and full of joy.

This moment with Rhea and her rider is a beautiful example of that healing in action. 🤍 The trust, the quiet communication, and the partnership between them speaks louder than words. Rhea’s steady heart and gentle presence create a space where growth, courage, and peace can flourish.

At Hope Therapy, we are honored to witness these connections every day. Healing doesn’t always look big or dramatic—sometimes it looks like a calm ride, a shared breath, and a bond that brings comfort to both horse and human. 💫

✨ Hope Update from Hope Therapy ✨

Hope is still very much the baby of the barn, but she’s been making wonderful progress since returning from training! She’s being ridden multiple times a week to build consistency as she continues her journey toward becoming a therapy horse.

Under saddle, Hope has a pokey little walk and prefers to take her time, but she continues to gain confidence and strength with each ride. In the pasture, she’s playful, full of personality, and always the first to greet you when you arrive.

Sweet, lovable, and very spunky, Hope brings joy wherever she goes. We’re so proud of how far she’s come and excited to watch her continue to grow into her future role here at Hope Therapy. 💕

🌿 Hope Therapy Update on Braveheart 🌿

Our sweet Braveheart has recently been diagnosed with EPM (Equine Protozoal Myeloencephalitis). EPM is a neurological disease caused by a parasite that affects a horse’s brain and spinal cord. It can lead to weakness, loss of coordination, and other symptoms that impact balance and movement.

The good news is that EPM is treatable, and many horses—when supported early and consistently—go on to make a full recovery. We are hopeful and prayerful that Braveheart will, too. 💛

His treatment is expensive, and as a nonprofit we rely on the generosity of our community to help us provide the best care possible.

🌾🐴 Healthy Hooves, Happy Horses! 🐴🌾

Just like our skin can dry out, a horse’s hooves can too — especially in hot, dry weather. At Hope Therapy, we know that proper hoof care is essential to keeping our herd comfortable and ready to serve with big hearts and steady steps. 💛

Here are a few simple ways to support healthy hooves when they’re dry:

✨ Regular Moisturizing: Apply a hoof conditioner or hoof oil to help lock in moisture.
✨ Consistent Farrier Visits: Routine trimming keeps hooves balanced and prevents cracks.
✨ Hydration Matters: Plenty of fresh water helps your horse stay hydrated from the inside out.
✨ Environment Check: Avoid overly dry, hard ground when possible — it can worsen brittle hooves.

Healthy hooves = happy horses = stronger healing moments for our riders. 💙

We are a 501(c)3 non=profit corporation, founded in 2001 by the mother-daughter team of Marianne and Rebecca Davenport. Hope Therapy is the only facility of its kind in Northeast Florida to be Certified a Premiere Facility by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, International. We are staffed by licensed occupational therapists certified in Hippotherapy and Therapeutic Riding Instruction, and we accept most major insurance coverage.
