She is currently enrolled in school to add Physical Therapy Assistant to her tool box! 🔥First of all- let's give my client Rob some props for being willing to let me share part of his journey publicly! 🙌💪🏼

I don't spend much time recording my clients because I never want them to feel compromised. I want them to feel like their time is a safe space.

After taking a few videos for learning purposes.
I got permission to share.

⭐️This is Part 1⭐️

Meet Rob (& Gus barking in the background)!

Whew. This makes me emotional.

Rob suffered a stroke 1.5 years ago.

His speech was compromised.

The right side of his body was compromised.

His cognitive function was compromised.

‼️His spirit, his will to work hard towards recovery DAILY, his mental fortitude, his hopeful outlook has NOT been compromised‼️

It is truly an honor to work with him. 🙏

After about 4 months(?) of working together (and with his other therapies) he has made tremendous progress.

He's sought to understand stroke recovery can take YEARS!

It's also a full time job.

Which he is committed to. 💪🏼

⭐️In this video we are working on a segment of walking -- how the upper body is a key factor and the mechanics of arm swing in walking.

Typically, I teach the segment before putting it all together with the walking pattern (that will be in the next video).

patients have unique neurological needs.

Their is essential to integrating movement & the nervous system.

It is a natural response to hold the breath with effort. So breathing is always a constant reminder.

⭐️These reminders are key!

His brain and body are working SO HARD to integrate movements most people take for granted every day.

On the effected side-- the learning will feel small.

It feels frustrating to put effort in and see no movement.

However, it's proven that even just by visualizing - nerve regeneration can happen over time.

So with effort-- even if there's no actual movement -- the nervous system is laying the ground work (wiring) to one day make the neurological connection.

⭐️It's an incredible thing to witness!

And you can see the & hope restored when a movement that hasn't been done since the stroke is achieved. Huge shout out to Rob!

⭐️This is not a highlight reel....

This is for .

Playing 🏀 and ⚽️ and any other sport really is a main motivation of my life!

I feel best when I play a sport -- get to run , exhaust myself, focus on one thing at a time (even though I bring my kids), relieve some , and meet some amazing women who ball. 🙌

It's not easy to show up ar 7pm at night in the cold & bring my kids along.

💫But sometimes as moms we need to show our kids WHO WE ARE outside of being their mom.

Especially if it brings us joy 🫶
