The holidays can bring joy — and stress.

Supporting your mental health doesn’t always require big changes. Sometimes it begins with the basics: staying hydrated, slowing down, and offering yourself compassion in moments of overwhelm.

If stress shows up, pause.
Place a hand on your heart and remind yourself:
This is hard. I’m human. I can be gentle with myself.

Support is available when you’re ready.

In a world that moves fast, presence is a quiet choice.
Slowing down, noticing your breath, and truly being with the people in front of you can gently shift how you feel and how you connect.

Small moments matter more than we realize.
Presence is a practice—and it’s one of the most meaningful gifts we can give ourselves and others.

If you’re feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or craving more calm and clarity, support is available. You don’t have to navigate it alone.

We’re sharing simple, practical mental health tools that can be used in real life, real moments, even when time feels limited. Small, intentional pauses can make a meaningful difference in how the nervous system responds to stress.

Today’s reminder: One Minute to Reset.
Slow your breath, drop your shoulders, and soften your jaw. Even brief pauses can signal safety to the brain and help bring the body back into balance.

These small moments add up.

If you’re looking for support that feels steady, grounded, and compassionate, we’re here to help.

The winter season can bring up emotions we don’t always expect. Sadness, anxiety, overwhelm, or even resentment aren’t signs that something is “wrong” with you — they’re signals. Gentle invitations to slow down, pay attention, and care for the parts of you that need support.

As you move through this season, try meeting your emotions with curiosity instead of judgment. Every feeling has a message. Every message is worth hearing.

If you’d like support in understanding or navigating your emotional world, we’re here for you.

Spending the holidays alone, or feeling alone even when you’re around others, can stir up a lot of emotions. There’s no “right” way to move through this season. Your experience is valid, and you’re allowed to care for your own peace in whatever way you need. 💛

If this resonates with you, you don’t have to hold it all by yourself. Karyn Luzio, LPCA at Augustine Counseling, is here to offer a calm, supportive space to talk, process, and feel understood.

The holidays can bring joy, connection, and celebration, but they can also stir up guilt, pressure, and the weight of old expectations.
If you’re navigating complicated feelings about family this season, you’re not alone. It’s more than okay to choose what feels healthiest for your mind and heart. Honoring your limits is an act of emotional clarity, not avoidance.

If you’re looking for support in understanding your patterns, setting boundaries, or simply feeling more grounded this time of year, we’re here to help. 🌿

Brother’s Open Private Practice

In November of 2014, twin brothers Mark and Michael opened Augustine Counseling, a private practice to focus on their therapy interests. 3 and a half years later they have grown to include six other therapists with a diverse set of interests. Although they have expanded, the feeling of a small family practice still remains. We believe that with commitment anything is possible, and nothing can’t be overcome.
