On-campus opportunity for current amazing sophomore women:

The BOLD Women's Leadership Network at Middlebury College is currently accepting applications for the BridgeUp program. As an extension of the BOLD program, this group of 10-15 BridgeUp Scholars will receive a one-time scholarship of up to $10,000, be part of an unofficial peer mentor network with BOLD Scholars, and support the success of BOLD campus transformation projects at Middlebury. While BridgeUp Scholars are not guaranteed to become BOLD Scholars, they do represent an expanded leadership pathway at each institution.

Below are the requirements for BridgeUp applicants:

β€’ Sophomore standing (as of Fall 2017)
β€’ Female or identify as a woman
β€’ Full-time enrollment
β€’ Good academic standing
β€’ Demonstrated passion for social equity
β€’ Demonstrated ability to work well in groups
β€’ BridgeUp Scholars are required to reside on campus for the entire sophomore year

If you are interested in and eligible for the BridgeUp program, please apply by Tuesday, October 24, 2017. A group interview process will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 5-7 pm (details TBD). Feel free to email bold@middlebury.edu with any questions or concerns.

Gateways to the laboratory summer program. Open to first/second years. Students who wish to pursue the combined MD-PhD degrees after college should apply. 10 weeks of independent research, scrub into surgeries at New York Presbyterian Hospital, plus a stipend!

Until 1993, medical colleges and graduate schools ran all of the summer programs in the United States, but none had the specific aim of training students to become successful MD-PhD applicants and students.
