I left the 20th Integrative Healthcare Symposium feeling inspired by the groundbreaking discussions on metabolism, the microbiome, and innovative approaches to well-being. Here are some key takeaways:

💡 Dr. Jeffrey Bland introduced the concept of immunometabolism, suggesting that it is a dysfunctional metabolism due to our lifestyle and how we function in the world that we are getting diseases.

💡 The microbiome remains the central hub of human well-being—neglecting it can lead to immunometabolic dysfunction.

💡 Dr. Sara Gottfried pointed out that the U.S. lacks a gold standard for health—a crucial issue for our medical system.

💡 Dr. Maya Shetreat discussed the importance of psychedelic experiences to process trauma.

I am as always a child at a candy shop when I get to interact with dear colleagues and mentors at this 20th Integrative Healthcare Symposium in NYC. Here I am with David Perlmutter, MD who is one of the endorsers of my book Mind Body Secrets, Jeffrey Bland, PhD the brilliant father of functional medicine, Woodson Merrell, M.D. organizer and amazing integrative medicine physician, . Maya Shetreat, expert in psychedelic medicine.
Among others I also bumped in to Aly Cohen, MD, FACR who is promoting her detoxify book and my dear colleague in Integrative medicine Jill R. Baron, MD also an endorser of my book, my husband Eric Olson, M.D. has embraced fully his role as an integrative Orthopaedic surgeon.
I feel so lucky to continue to grow and help humans with my work as an Integrative endocrinologist. Perhaps I am really a psychneuroendocrinologist.

This process of gratitude and reflection helps me honor my journey and the opportunities I’ve had to grow.
