Charles Elliott served during World War II in occupied Japan, first as a Private First Class (PFC) Rifleman and later as a PFC Cook in the officer's mess at the 128th Station Hospital. Elliott's decorations include the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbon with one Bronze Star, Philippine Liberation Campaign Ribbon with one Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, Army Occupational Medal, Japan Victory Ribbon, and two Overseas Service Bars.
